I Battle Depression

i m not depressed but i read an article about curing depression. some of the tips to battle against it are to get out of home and do something so that there would be some progress, or at least a sense of it because once you get used to the comfortable feeling of not progressing it s easy to sink forever; to get up early, go outside to get some sunlight, because otherwise the feeling of losing the best part of the day and the coming of night too quickly would lead to depressive feelings; to move on, dress up nicely, eat something nice, meet some nice people, live onwards as usual, the bad days will pass while you forget to bother.

the 2nd tip above was the drive for me to get up early on a sunday morning to go to church today.

I totally agree. The heavier the grey cloud is, the more you need to walk to the mirror, wash your face, put on some makeup and walk out of the house. It is true being cooped up indoors for extended periods of time gives one a sense do wasted time and it exacerbates the feeling. I would walk by the promenade facing Lamma Island and watch the huge cargo ships go by on days when I felt depressed that one year working there.

seas are definitely valuable in helping relax.

Makes sense but those who are depressed have a difficult times getting up and doing these things.
