Parenting, working, wifing.

After you reach a certain age, you finally realize that
they don’t break out the balloons and popcorn, they don’t have a pony for the kids to ride, immediately after you crawl under the blankets. You’re not missing out.

Easily. I do it most nights.

Maybe waking early helps, staying off of a phone or computer at night, plus being productive during the day and getting some exercise is vastly important.
I usually lie down around 10pm and watch TV. I don't watch anything too stimulating, and I usually fall asleep by 11pm.

You have to set a routine and stick to it. I get up at 7am every day, so I usually get tired around the same time at night.

I still can't do it consistently because I'm a chronically anxious overthinker. But trying to build a routine helps. Spending less time in bed outside of bedtime helps too, so your body only associates being in bed with sleeping.

Not very well, and not by choice. BUT I have to be up to care for my wife, who generally wakes by 6:00 a.m. and starts wandering, so i find myself going to bed early and trying to get some sleep if I can.
I try to get into bed early but it depends on so many things.
I wish I could every day.
Usually if I'm in bed by 11pm or earlier I'm happy.

I don't know how people don't. I am asleep by 7:30. I wake up between 4:30 & 5:30 am.

I stopped trying to force myself to fall asleep years ago, and accepted the fact that I'm nocturnal.

Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
I'm old that helps a lot.

Sleeping pills, melatonin, a couple cups of sleepytime tea, and mental world building to focus and quiet the adhd brain.

If you have to get up at 6 AM every day, 10 PM is a pretty reasonable time to go to bed.
BillyMack · 46-50, M
Waking up early helps. Also figuring out your level of functionality with less sleep.
Allelse · 36-40, M
I dunno, it just happened after a while. I get tired at 9:30 - 10:00pm.
I think biology makes some of us morning people and some of night owls...
WasEP · 51-55, M
Earlier riser, so in bed by 9 on most nights if not earlier
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
There is really no rhyme or reason to my sleep habits anymore. I sleep when I finally pass out from exhaustion, whenever that may be lol
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
Easily I get up at 6 am, I'm tired by 8 or 9 pm

It's called being tired 🥱
lilylovesgaming1986 · 36-40, F
I usually go to bed at 10:30pm
Put your phone aside by 9 pm
Holden · 31-35, M
Simple. I take 2 good hits of my weed vape and then within a half hour, I end up falling asleep.
I have 4 hours of sleep the night before, you’re welcome

My hub insists on a 10pm bedtime 😳
ElRengo · 70-79, M
Not always but frequently in my bed
icedsky · 51-55, M
Work night shift and go to sleep typically about 8 am.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
Habit, for most people who do not go to bed very late.
gregloa · 61-69, M

I think the secret is they don't have ADHD.
BillyMack · 46-50, M
@LordShadowfire not true. Well now that you say that… could be one of the reasons it’s taken a while for me to go to bed early.

Shit
