Regret, unrequited love, its like deciding to eat those supermarket cooked meat samples on toothpicks for lunch instead of buying a full meal. Leaves you hungry and unsatisfied at the end of the day.
There's also the monetary cost, im not talking prostitutes, but the cost of dates and gifts and travelling etc, i'm still paying off 30k credit card debt from entertaining my old "situationships"
Like the band live sang in "unsheated": 🎵 free love was just another party for the hippies to ruin..🎵

@Rudboy41 You have no real idea; you’re too young. The "bill" came in the form of the AIDs crisis, hepatitis, etc. 😞
bijouxbroussard · F
No…I didn’t partake. But throughout the 80s I sat at the bedsides of dear friends who had. 😞

@SchoolBelle it was really horrible. I hated some days to go to work.
bijouxbroussard · F
@samueltyler2 I lost about ten very dear friends. One who was much younger than me came out and was disowned by his family. My mother welcomed him into our home and he stayed with us until he finished high school. Years later, she was the one he reached out to when he was sick. Mom tried to get his mother to go see him, but she wouldn’t. 😩
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@bijouxbroussard so sad. We lost a generation of very talented creative people. That isnt to the others were not a tragic loss.

Unfortunately i was too shy to take advantage, now I've missed out...

"In my days" someone may have asked: what do you mean by "free"?
By now, someone may ask: what do you mean by "love"?

Occasional disappointment? I guess I paid it, things didn't always work out.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
Lack of hatred.
I hate very little. So yes I have paid for even the "free" love.

Isn't Free, Free ?
But I get it, nothing is truly free.

The price I paid was heartbreak
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
It is the most expensive kind. And, no, I cannot afford it.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@sarabee1995 we agree on a lot of things.
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
@samueltyler2 I know. I was just teasing. ;)

SchoolBelle · 61-69, F

Loss of personal time?
SchoolBelle · 61-69, F
@GuyWithOpinions Time is never personal. It exists without you - before you were born, there was time, after you die, there will be time.
It is foolish to try and own time.

@SchoolBelle well when presented with a question like what is the price of something free there isnt really an answer because the question is kind of a paradox. Thats why it was a guess. Hence the question mark.
What is your correct answer then?
What is your correct answer then?
SchoolBelle · 61-69, F
@GuyWithOpinions There is no answer. It is, as you observed, a paradox.

What is a soul worth?
SchoolBelle · 61-69, F
@Dirtyboyy67 Un sou was worth about one penny, when a penny was worth about one penny.
So, a soul is worth approximately one penny + 'l'.
Now, what the 'ell is 'l' worth

Trust. Pay for it? Sex, you mean, or just companionship?
@SchoolBelle You mean you are friends, you trust him with your money, or ?
@val70 Arguably (not about free love) those you pay for sex are more trustworthy.
SchoolBelle · 61-69, F
@awildsheepschase I trust her with my money - or else!

There is no price associated with free love. If YOU paid for it, then you weren't buying love.
