What has been your biggest mistake?

Is there one that you regret more than the others?
Holding onto my anger for so long in my life, it made me a bitter and ugly person. I’m letting things go and learning to forgive nowadays, but I’m nearly 40. This is decades of my life that I wasted in anger.
@WhatLifeIsFor Remember that you deserve peace and happiness.
WhatLifeIsFor · 41-45, M
@Colonelmustardseed i will try to remember that :)

Beautiful!
When I ignored the signs of my mental illness because I was scared and I didn’t know what to do.

Getting married at the age of 19 and then divorcing at 28 🤦🏻‍♀️
Lilymoon · F
@Sevendays yeah we're always learning eh?

@Lilymoon hi Lilly moon , excuse the language but I’m gonna say it anyway .
The day you think you know it all your fucked . I’m fucked now and there’s no getting through to me .
Will I tell u were I went wrong ?
Extreme beliefs with pain and God and now there’s no way getting back and listening to others that never were there with experiences
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
My biggest mistake was that I’ve married the wrong man.

Although I am divorced since 25 years my short marriage has traumatized me forever and since then I was never able again to have a relationship. 😞
Sevendays · M
@Loretta78 hopefully to a safer place where you found peace
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
@Sevendays Yep.
Everything was ok and my son is a hard working adult today.

It is just that since then I never was able again to have a partnership because of my trauma.

That’s why I am lonely today since decades… 😐
Sevendays · M
@Loretta78 it may pass, have faith my friend.
thepreposterouspanda · 36-40, M
I stopped taking antidepressants cold turkey when I was 22. Developed an autoimmune disorder that attacked my brain, lungs, and kidneys and left me permanently disabled.
thepreposterouspanda · 36-40, M
@JustGoneNow I appreciate it. :) 💚 I've been worried a lot lately too. My blood pressure bottomed out a couple of weekends ago and I just haven't felt okay since. Hoping nothing serious happened.
@thepreposterouspanda me too. I’ll only be getting on Tuesday nights a little and some on Wednesday during the day and between my appointments but please don’t be a stranger, okay. You matter to me. 🖤🤗
thepreposterouspanda · 36-40, M
@JustGoneNow Absolutely! :3 I'm probably gonna try to be on here less soon and see if it's one of things that's been affecting me but I'll be sure to drop by. :) 🤗
BeJeweled · F
Not taking the time to figure out the real me years ago. That resulted in going down the wrong path with the wrong man. But it was remedied eventually. Hard lesson I learned and I don't repeat mistakes. I was a late bloomer, but I know myself now.
BeJeweled · F
@BLP11520 Hard to live with someone like that. Been there.
BLP11520 · 61-69, M
@BeJeweled I have been healthy and some say I am handsome so ??? Don't want to say too much.
BLP11520 · 61-69, M
very personal
Freddie222 · M
Not getting the Work-Life balance right. I gave too much attention to work and didn’t make enough time to spend with my wife and young family.
Sevendays · M
@Freddie222 that's a pretty common thing. You were doing what you thought you had to do
Freddie222 · M
@Sevendays yeah true. And poor management allowed it, maybe expected it! 24 years in my last full time role. The last 5 as department manager. I loved the job and the company. Maybe now with hindsight I realise I gave them far too much.
They did, however, set me free at age 55 so I’ve been able to reap some of the rewards in this last 7 or so years and take things a little easier. More importantly, much more quality time with my wife, kids and grandkids.
Sevendays · M
@Freddie222 enjoying them. Congrats
Once not long ago I ran out of beer. I never want to go through that again and have since taken measures to prevent it.

@Thevy29 very inspirational.
Freeranger · M
I used to work in living history, which lead to working in period movies. I got a call to work on The Conspirator, a visceral movie surrounding the Lincoln assassination and those responsible starring Robin Wright and James McAvoy.
I regret it immensely.
Freeranger · M
@Sevendays I did........very stupid....verrrrrry stoopid.
Sevendays · M
@Freeranger too bad we can't get do overs.
Freeranger · M
@Sevendays Hah.....ain't that the truth.
HumanEarth · F
I don't want to talk about it, in public forum. But will talk about in a Private Message
ABCDEF7 · M
I regret for every second I wasted in my life.
I think I've stated this several times, but I once bought Amazon stock when it was a young corp at $9 a share. Didn't buy a lot, however, that stock would be worth around $250,000 today if I had held it.
exexec · 61-69, C
I think my biggest mistake was not believing in myself, which led to a failure to reach my potential in some areas.
Torsten · 36-40, M
ive made far too many to nail it down to one. I have done a lot of bad messed up shit when i was younger and i regret some of it, mostly the stuff I never got away with and paid for one way or another but I think the thing i regret the most is stupid little things i did when my son was first born.
I was utterly clueless on how to be a parent and the new born baby stage is really rough even when prepared and i feel i made some mistakes, nothing major but its still things i wish i did different
ImpeccablyImperfect · 51-55, F
Hmmmm….hard to say since I don’t make mistakes. 😉

Well, except that one time…when I got married 😣
BLP11520 · 61-69, M
@ImpeccablyImperfect I can relate
lwshm64 · 56-60, F
I don't have any because what I did at that moment in time was right for me. Because that's how we learn
BLP11520 · 61-69, M

Sevendays · M
@BLP11520 sorry!
BLP11520 · 61-69, M

Vomiting in the MRI machine. They had strapped my head down and I was entering the thing when it happened... They didn't take the MRI and went with the CT scan they did previously.
BLP11520 · 61-69, M
@Thevy29 oh no
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
I'm still not at the stage when I would be able to recognize mistakes as mistakes.
Maybe it's making an account on SW...who knows? 👀
