His money works for him. Which really is the definition of rich..Real estate, shares and "projects"..😷

Thanks for the "Best Comment"
Nothing.

Both of them.

Different people with different life styles.

One built a contracting company, hired people technically smarter then him to run it and he enjoys the rewards on all the beaches all over the world.

The second richest person I know lives in a house he built long ago on a plot of land his families owned for generations.
He’s rich with time for himself and as much freedom as there is possible within country laws. His farming covers costs and then some to keep the government “away” just enough.

@Teggy That is awesome!
Stuffy · 61-69, F
Sit on her arse And live off her husband
Stuffy · 61-69, F
@Musicman Yeah AND kind enough to give. Just wish we got along though
Stuffy · 61-69, F
@Stuffy why funny?
@Stuffy I'm kind of laughing sorta but that's actually a sad truth.
Adrift · 61-69, F
Most of the people I know thqt have a ton of money had originally made money buying and selling land or investing in a small business and gradually building it up and selling it.
ServantOfTheGoddess · 61-69, M
President of my university. Has a higher salary than my country's Prime Minister.
@ServantOfTheGoddess the college football and basketball coaches here in the US make way more than the administrators
ServantOfTheGoddess · 61-69, M
@saragoodtimes wow. I don't think that is the case here in Canada although there is a lot of hype around our university sports teams...
@ServantOfTheGoddess now with this NIL ( name, image and likeness) deal for college athletes some of them make more too. read that Lebron James's kid got a 7 million dollar deal from USC and a Kid at kentucky is driving a 750 thousand dollar Lamborghini
Jimmy2016 · 61-69, M
He has owned 5 company's in the last 40 years and sold them all. He's a multimillionaire............He sold one of his companies for 2 billion dollars...............so yea, he has some money..........
The few rich friends I have come from well off families.
One family was involved in real estate investments and building projects. My friend personally works in the diamond business.
Another comes from a multi rich family. He himself lives off the interest and is involved in academic research and writing books.
A third's father built himself up from business and my friend owns a large curtain/blinds business.
I have some other well off friends. All work. Some had money from their parents, others worked hard.

I know and have known several multi-millionaires, but I have no idea who had the most. Possibly my wife's uncle, a surgeon who invested wisely. Maybe my classmate who was president of a national furniture company. I will choose my friend who develops real estate, and who is also one of the most generous people I know in giving his time and wealth where needed.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@exexec He sounds like a really good person. 🙂
exexec · 61-69, C
@Musicman He is a rare one.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
:) I don't know who is the richest person I know. I've never asked.

I once knew a guy that was earning 200K+ a year, but he had 5 divorces and his alimony and child support exceeded his income. He was desperate to convince one of his ex's to marry him again so he could keep a little pocket change.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Heartlander A very good point. A person can have massive income, but massive expenses and no time.. Nett result zero and a lousy life. Part of my inclusion as "rich" equals control of your time..😷
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@whowasthatmaskedman

Absolutely!!

If I ver stumbled into one of those $million a year situations I'd probably resign after the first 6 months :)
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Heartlander I remember when a $million a year was a lot of money ..😷
itsok · 31-35, F
Real estate
Musicman · 61-69, M
@itsok @TurtleEclipseOfTheHeart That seems to be a very good field. 🙂
itsok · 31-35, F
@Musicman potentially. I think it takes a certain type of person in a good location. It also helps if you already have money.
I know a few people who got their real estate license and weren’t able to support themselves that way
Musicman · 61-69, M
@itsok That's terrible! ☹️

@whowasthatmaskedman Can't buy me time. Everybody tells me so. Can't buy me time. No, no, no.

@SW-User I remember when that was a hit, the first time...😷

@whowasthatmaskedman I believe it was love, not time. For my second song: Love, love, love is on my side- yes it is.

I know a lot of extremely wealthy people, which is the richest? That I don't know.
But, they range from hedge fund folks to entrepreneurs...some have it the old fashion way...they inherited it.
They invest in real estate. Like, my mom will literally buy property so that other people don’t buy it but then she won’t even pay for my house
Stuffy · 61-69, F
@TurtleEclipseOfTheHeart Your young, she’s encouraging you to develop your own resourcefulness. Stay in good terms- And in the end it should pay off in more ways than familial warm fuzzies
SW-User
I've met a few very wealthy people, as in celebrities at autograph signings etc., but as far as knowing any wealthy people personally, I've been too isolated over the past several years to be sure of my acquaintances. None of my family appear to be doing all that well. However, I'd be willing to guess that if I'd kept in touch with former classmates, I'd find some of them to be highly successful and financially well off, especially those I knew who were born to wealthy families.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@SW-User That's perfectly fine. Sometimes just knowing someone with their bills paid and a couple of dollars in the bank can make a person very rich. 🙂
SW-User
@Musicman True. What I meant was I'm sort of out of the communication loop 😄-- so don't really know enough about anyone to be able to tell who is the most well off. I don't know anyone who's had exceptionally high paying jobs, so the clue isn't there.
Ducky · 31-35, F
My sister. She's a singer, promoter, investor, philanthropist and occasional podcaster.

Thinkerbell · 41-45, F
He's a crooked politician.

I know, I know... 'crooked' is redundant in that context. 🤭
He buys containers full of clothes from china and sells them here.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
I know one man who had multiple car lots, he had over a $million in savings decades ago when he was young and kept expanding his business. He’s at the age where he could retire, sold one of his businesses…has some health problems now.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@cherokeepatti I am sorry to hear that ☹️
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F

Musicman · 61-69, M
@rockstar And you know him personally?
rockstar · 31-35, M
@Musicman Yes, our family relations go way back. And he was my first mentor and guide when I started working, so I had the chance to spend a lot of time with him and learn a lot.
Musicman · 61-69, M

deadteddy · 26-30, F
I don’t know many rich people. But one I’ve had contact with for certain period of time owned a business in the pharmacy industry.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@deadteddy Exactly! So in your mind who is the richest person you know? 🙂
deadteddy · 26-30, F
@Musicman Following that concept… my dad. He’s happy even if he’s bank account is empty. Nothing stresses him out.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@deadteddy That's wonderful 😊 I owned a residential construction company. I remember this one time. I got paid from a big job and deposited the check on a Friday. The bank said it wouldn't clear until Monday. My wife and I had to go through an entire weekend on $1. That was all I had till that check cleared the bank.

icedsky · 51-55, M
@Musicman Definitely loaded much more than we are.
I had two real estate agents in the family and they both dropped out. One got another job and the other rented out the rooms in her house. Because the market dived.
Retired accountant. Now classic car collector and good friends with Jay Leno.

@Musicman You two would get on VERY well!! His collection ---and personal show room--are superb. ☺️☺️
Viper · M
Richest in terms of what?

Happiest? Wisdom? Or simply just money?
Musicman · 61-69, M
@Viper How about all three. 🙂
Viper · M
@Musicman

Assets: Probably a neighbor, but he's owns (I don't have a clue) how many acres upon acres of farm lands) and is also a truck driver on top of it. The man never stopped moving. I don't know if he has much cash, but assets wise he's probably the richest.

Richest Cash wise, probably a guy that works in finance and lives and breathe the stock market.

Happiness: Multiple guys with consistent pay check, and an easy going wife, that enjoys to cook.

Wisdom: My first manager at my current job was extremely wise.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@Viper That is awesome! 🙂🙂🙂
Hedge fund manager.
