Do you ever feel like you aren’t going to live old ?

And you are ok with it ?
PrestonJ · 36-40 Best Comment
When I was 20 I didn’t think I’d make it past 30 but now that I’m 37 I’m good. I no longer fear making it to any age. Just live how you want to live everyday and you’ll be fine no matter when you go.
@PrestonJ That is SO TRUE.

When I was in my late 20's I thought I'd be lucky to make it to 30. When I was 30, I thought "40 is old, I'll never make it to 40." My 40's and 50's blew by in a big blur.... kids, college, new 'adventurous' jobs (start-ups with 60 hour weeks).... Then I woke-up one morning and thought...."Holy sh*t, I am old enough to retire." So I retired (semi, I guess) and have never been busier even though retirement means "every day is Saturday."

It is a nice feeling, just like being a teenager but cooler.... I have no debt, I get an allowance (Social Security check every month), I have a car that I can drive anywhere I want and my time is my own to do ANYTHING I want......

The downside is that you realize at some point that your circle of friends in getting much smaller each year due to their passing....

@PrestonJ Well said I'm seconding this.

That’s exactly how it seems to work , the sad part is your last part for sure. Friends and family for me .@Threepio

Yes. I hoped I was wrong, but both my parents died young and I've had cancer once, checking to see if I have it again now.
Stephanidunord · 18-21, F
@AlchemyFox I Hope it’s all good ?
At 63, I’ve already outlived a lot of my friends. But I don’t think I’ll reach my parents’ ages.

My mother died this year at 89 and my father, still living, just turned 91. My mother survived cancer in her 70s but was otherwise healthy until the last couple of years of her life. Pop has always been healthy.

I have health problems now, and would rather not live to see them get worse.

@bijouxbroussard You'll make it...👍
My grandma died at 54 and my mother was 62 - I don't hold much hope of retirement.
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
I hope so. And I am very ok with it, providing the circumstances are not cruel or excruciating.

I felt a lot of calm mixed when relief when i thought I was going to die. I was kind of disappointed I wasn't.

Still, I am not chasing death. I just want to do my time and go.

I do feel like old age is not my future but my family's history says the opposite. I had a terrible accident that affects me every minute of every day and I believe that will have a toll on my longevity.

Well I'm not sick or anything, so Idk I honestly don't like thinking about things that I have little control about, and I'm not thinking about ending my life so.
TheunderdogofNY · 36-40, M
Yeah. i am kind if okay with it. I regret some of the decisions i made that led me to this way of thinking. But it's my fault for not trusting my instincts.
Piper · 61-69, F
Yes, I felt that way when I was young. At soon to be (maybe), 67, I figure I'm already "old"...but feel I won't live to be "ancient", and I'm okay with that. 🙂
RoxClymer · 41-45, M
medical issues since birth
I'm ok with dying young
it's not going to make it anymore pleasant
but I'm ok with it
Felt that way since my teens, well past when I thought I'd expire
Stephanidunord · 18-21, F
@Justafantasy so there’s hope
@Stephanidunord life keeps happening, jump on and enjoy the ride. It's your show make the things you want happen
I am surprised i am still here. They say the good die young. I must be very bad lol
thepreposterouspanda · 36-40, M
I've been feeling that way a lot lately. Still trying to process how I feel about it.
WhatLifeIsFor · 41-45, M
they way i am living, i hardly reach 60 and i am ready for it 😉
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
Age 62 here. Always seem to think I'm a year older than i am. Mom lived to 98, dad to 68. I probably should retire but then what?

Update: a year later and I am retired following a layoff on May 3rd. I'm ok but there are others that were dependent on me that I can no longer assist financially and that weighs on me. Stay tuned and we'll see what happens next!
WhateverWorks · 36-40
I used to, but then surprisingly survived. Lol…
Dino11 · M
Am just lucky to be here, every day is a blessing
Freeranger · M
When you learn to accept the fact that life is one with no guarantees, you'll find it either sends you to the loony bin or free's your mind to live each day to it's fullest, because it's the one you are in.....somewhere along this un-scientific scale, you just might find relief.
Rock on.
DCarey · 46-50, M
Yes, in fact, I wish it to be that way.

Sometimes but i already feel old

🤔 What is old?
I'm already old. I'm fine with my body dying, which is the only thing that will. Consciousness survives physical death, and in a glorious way. So yes, I'm very okay with it.
[c=800055]I really don't wanna think about Death .
My Mom died when she was only 32 & aunt at her 26 .
My Granny always felt worry about me .
I just want to live long only for her .
She is 94+ . <3 [/c]

I hate the empire of wage labor and climate catastrophe with endless war that's dying younger for NATO.
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
As a kid I never thought I'd live past 20. So I didn't plan for the future.
I’m personally looking forward to my very own mobility scooter
IamCuriousBabe · 51-55, F
Very much aged, yes, but hopefully never feeling old.
Jimmy2016 · 61-69, M
🤔...........65 and I know I may have 10 years at best.......
I did, then it happened but I’m still alive
StraCat · 41-45, M
I'd rather stick around a bit. Mainly for my kids.

I used to think that.
I mean it's obviously still a possibility, but I'll probably end up a geezer after all.
NewBeginnings7790 · 41-45, F
Yes, often.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
I'm thinking I'll make it to 60 or so. Don't know how much beyond that

I asked a spirit if she’d prefer that life or the living , she said she preferred that life , I asked on an oujio board app.
Donotfolowme · 51-55, F
This crosses my mind a lot and now I have this medical condition so even more promising lol!
How I feel? Numb
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
I've had that feeling before, yet here I am!
FeetAreFantastic · 41-45, M
Yes and yes. I just hope my death will be painless and that I would have had a happy life. I'd rather die young but happy than old and miserable or will lots of illness.
