Because some people have messed up minds and are less than zero.
Its social media as usual.
Just forget about it and move on to bigger and better things.
Julien · 36-40, M
@Zonuss thanks

I'm really sorry it has happened to you.
If you don't mind, I want to share my experience, so you don't feel lonely in this.

2012, EP.
On EP people were creating EP-spouses, and I didn't miss the game.
So, I had an EP-husband named Kyle. Fast forward to 18/12/2012, some EP friends/people told me that Kyle had died irl in a car crash, and started sharing posts like RIP Kyle etc...
Okay, you can imagine how I felt... at some point I wanted to die too. I kept his profile picture in my laptop as a memory.
Some years later, just outta curiosity I reverse-searched his photo on Google: it was a male model, and of course his name wasn't even Kyle!
I still don't know why people played that prank on me, and since then... well, I don't look for anything like that again. I'm actually married irl and not looking for dating here.

I hope my experience helps you a little bit... and I hope you'll be okay soon.

@dareme thank you
Im sorry this happened to you
Aw, that's really sick person. I'm so sorry that happened to you. But I think it's best never to tell almost everything to people. It's important to keep things to yourself until you really get to know people and even then some things you just don't tell because they're personal and they're meant to be private. I hope you'll try to just chalk this up as an experience, not let it make you bitter, but make you better and you'll move along. These people aren't worth even feeling bad over nor another minute of thought. They don't get that from us. They don't deserve it. We can let it get to us or we can chalk it up as an experience and just move on and do better. Experience is actually a great teacher and when we know better, we do better. It's just a shame this type thing has to go on and people do get hurt.

A sad and unfortunate part of social media and being online. Have to be extremely careful about sharing personal information. Big part of the reason I rarely PM anymore.
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
I am so sorry for your experience.
Sadly my own experiences on SW are not better at all. That’s why I reject PMs. This helps A LOT to not getting disappointed again
Julien · 36-40, M
@Loretta78 this is not what I expected for this site :(
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
@Julien I didn’t expect it neither.
I’ve found a good friend here years ago. We were so closed - our friendship lasted 6 years. And after 6 years he suddenly disappeared without any explanation or just to say good bye.

The same has happened with another friend here. We were like soulmates. For 4 years we had daily contact - sometimes for hours. But then the same happened: He disappeared without any explanation. I was even not worth that he just said goodbye to me.

And now I am really done.

But I think it’s not the fault of this site but the fault of the superficial people here.
Younameit · F
Sorry to hear that. That’s why I’m so against catfish accounts. Mostly the ones that interact with people like that. Gotta say that if a woman here is wayyyy too flirty and overly friendly, chances are they’re not really a woman. Not always the case, but happens a lot.
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
Aww never trust anyone until you know for sure. Just use this place as somewhere to have fun. Sorry this happened to you 😔
Julien · 36-40, M
@PatientlyWaiting25 I don’t treat this place like tinder or something , it happened « naturally « and over time . But it will be a lesson for me for sure
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
@Julien wonder what he was trying to get out of it. Was he trying to get money from you do you think?
Julien · 36-40, M
@PatientlyWaiting25 I doubt it … some sort of weird fetish maybe …
GerOttman · 70-79, M
Well first off, it's their problem not yours. There's a stink of loneliness and isolation that clings to certain activities. Someone is telling you that they are broken somehow. How you choose to respond will determine who you are.
Miram · 31-35, F
You message me who they are. People should not be allowed to keep their accounts without verification after they have lead others on.

It would keep this place cleaner.
Wiseacre · F
That’s precisely why I never get involved w ppl on social media, at least never emotionally. Let this be a lesion!
Lilymoon · F
Yikes. Sorry to hear, sometimes you have to learn the hard way:/
romell · 51-55, M
Bro how come you let him get into you so bad control and balance is a must on social media

@minxy im usually wiser , just been through a rough patch , maybe I wanted to believe to hard :(
minxy · 51-55, F
@Julien I totally get it, a rough patch can have you grasping onto anything that may ease your mind for a while, it clouds your mind into trying to find anything to keep your head above water.
Hireath · 36-40, M
ah that blows
Iwillwait · M
You mustn't do that. This is virtual, and virtual is not real. Nothing is real.

Happens far to often
Sunch74 · 31-35, F
Thats sickening. How did u find out?
Julien · 36-40, M
@Sunch74 I had my suspicion, they would say things Sonetime with no empathy, allmost chauvinistic in a way , eventually he/she send me a photo I never asked for , a simple Google search confirmed what I already suspected
Sunch74 · 31-35, F
@Julien Omg, thats gross. Maybe you should expose their username, so more ppl will be more aware of that person.
Name and shame!
Julien · 36-40, M
@Adeptlinguist I’ll be the bigger person , they know who they are
@Julien But you can protect others!
