Do u remember what u were doing on September the 11th, 2001 ? 🇺🇸
It was a beautiful crystal clear sunny day across the US. People were just going about their regular schedule only to discover that something had changed. It was very quiet. It was on a Tuesday. It seemed like the country was in a good place. Here we are just coming off an election year. And of course George Bush Jr was our new president here. I remember being at home watching the events happen right before my eyes. I actually was watching Fox News. They said that something went off and people heard a noise. Then the video of the attack was being viewed all across the globe within minutes. I could not believe what I was seeing. It was insane, like an outer body experience.. And I knew that after that day, the entire world would not be the same. Do you remember what you were doing on September 11, 2001. How many of you here were alive. How many of you were actually there in New York City as it happened on that fateful day. I'm listening.
Vividly, I do. I was returning from a task in the somewhere in the UK and was on the road home, it unfolded slowly as I was listening to the car radio. Reporting was quite slow (possibly due to the unbelievable nature of what had occurred) but at first it seemed as though some sort of plane hac crashed into a skyscraper in NY. It was not until I got home I witnessed and saw the whole tragedy on the TV just as the second tower was struck.
I was making rounds in the hospital, my son called and asked if I could see it, I asked what...the rest is still a combination of blue and very sharp clarity, surprising but real. We watched as the second plane hit the second building. All physicians were told to report to the auditorium. We watched the news and prepared the hospital to accept injured people. None came.
Yeah, mom was still alive and really didn't care what was happening on the news. 😔
She passed away December 23. 😢
In 2007 I walked into an office, to be my office for the next ten years. On the drapes, covering the window in front of my desk, was the scene of the twin towers being hit printed on the drapes.
I never removed those drapes and they could still be there.
I was working in a warehouse in Boise, ID and my wife at the time asked if we could open up a room in our house for weary travelers that got bumped from their flights because of the terrorist attack. That is one day I will never forget
It was my sophomore year of college Registration day. I was about to head to downtown Boston after registration , and a secretary at the college said, "No you're not, it's shut down." Then she brought me into a professor office and on the tv, the second plane had hit, the towers in black smoke, people hanging out of windows. It was the most atrocious, devastating thing I'd ever seen. 😢 My friend and I went for lunch nearby instead of downtown Boston , and by then the towers had fallen when we got there. I remember eating and watching them replay the horror over and over and over in the bar tv. 🙁
I was in my office watching after the first plane hit. When the second plane hit, it was obvious it was a terrorist attack. Everybody gathered in the conference room, joined hands, and I led them in prayer. It was interesting: Christians of several denominations, two Jews, two Hindus, one Buddhist, a couple of atheists/agnostics, and two Muslims, all praying together.
Just got back from vacation qoke up naturally with each crash i would find out later... did not turn any tv or raido on did not have to be at work till 9 cst got to work break room was full of people thought that was strange....
I was working at my office 4 blocks from the Hudson River in NJ . When a friend called and told me I swore he was lying . When he called about the second plane I rushed to the riverfront , put my hands on my head and started crying . This was when both were hit but before they fell
Driving to work, heard about the 1st plane on the radio, announcers thought it was an accident, like when a WWII bomber hit the Empire state, then the 2nd plane hit, by that time I could see the smoke from the highway where I was stuck in traffic.
yes of course i was at work on the farm, and some of the other work hands were standing around a tractor listening to the radio, i thought it must be a football game, untili got closer and they said, an aeroplane hit a house in america' little did we know
