This is an embarrassing post but I'm gonna share it anyway.
This is my bedroom. I did not keep it clean and in the past few years, it has built up! I am working on getting it clean this summer but the floor is sooo bad! If you can tell, the bed is sinking into the floor because the floor is so bad!
Watch hoarders, or how to clean and disinfect rooms on YouTube for some inspiration on where to start cleaning! It might inspire you. Once you get started take lot's of breaks, and then keep going until everything is clean and disinfected, then go out and buy nice things like a new rug, or paintings and some fake plants, new bedding sheets and comforter and pillows and some floating shelves, or a dresser off of facebook buy and sell, and redecorate to make it your sanctuary... Then clean once a week thereafter! God bless!
I'm just doing my kitchen now after a funny smell appeared, I've already got rid of the mice that were a problem and now I found one of their little hideouts. If I ranked your room as a 10 in the world of messy and 0 is something that is clean and tidy I'll give my kitchen a 4. I hope you have started the clean up.
Looks like Hoarding Disorder which is classified as a mental illness. It usually co-occurs with other mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Hope you’re able to get some professional help as it’s often the case that untreated, merely throwing everything out isn’t enough because the tendency will be to re-hoard and start the cycle all over again.
I say good for you for taking the initiative to start. Just do one little section at a time each day and before you know it, it will be done! I'm proud of you for taking that first step. I know that's not easy. Keep up the good work!
Psychologically: Appreciate your room and the things in it. Think of cleaning not as a chore, but as giving your room love and care in gratitude for the comfort and protection that it provides you. Having a sanctuary to relax in is an important part of self-care. You deserve a nice room to relax in!
You are going to have bugs living in all that mess. Do one bag a day of items in your room. Be ruthless and get rid of it all. you will feel so much better.
You might want to start by cleaning up your mess so you can see what's going on. When you take on everything all at once ...it's just too overwhelming.
If you don't clean shit like this ،it eventually cleans you instead. It will purge you out from existence and has an impact on your ability to form healthy connections and build a life.
I have been in homes like this. First thing to do is downsize.
