This is an embarrassing post but I'm gonna share it anyway.

This is my bedroom. I did not keep it clean and in the past few years, it has built up! I am working on getting it clean this summer but the floor is sooo bad! If you can tell, the bed is sinking into the floor because the floor is so bad!

Watch hoarders, or how to clean and disinfect rooms on YouTube for some inspiration on where to start cleaning! It might inspire you. Once you get started take lot's of breaks, and then keep going until everything is clean and disinfected, then go out and buy nice things like a new rug, or paintings and some fake plants, new bedding sheets and comforter and pillows and some floating shelves, or a dresser off of facebook buy and sell, and redecorate to make it your sanctuary... Then clean once a week thereafter! God bless!

I'm just doing my kitchen now after a funny smell appeared, I've already got rid of the mice that were a problem and now I found one of their little hideouts. If I ranked your room as a 10 in the world of messy and 0 is something that is clean and tidy I'll give my kitchen a 4. I hope you have started the clean up.
Looks like Hoarding Disorder which is classified as a mental illness. It usually co-occurs with other mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Hope you’re able to get some professional help as it’s often the case that untreated, merely throwing everything out isn’t enough because the tendency will be to re-hoard and start the cycle all over again.
I say good for you for taking the initiative to start. Just do one little section at a time each day and before you know it, it will be done! I'm proud of you for taking that first step. I know that's not easy. Keep up the good work!

Seek help. Both physical and mental.

I have lived by myself for decades and have never come close to that in my own bedroom.

Heck even storage sheds were more organized. And very likely were far more packed.

Psychologically: Appreciate your room and the things in it. Think of cleaning not as a chore, but as giving your room love and care in gratitude for the comfort and protection that it provides you. Having a sanctuary to relax in is an important part of self-care. You deserve a nice room to relax in!

You are going to have bugs living in all that mess. Do one bag a day of items in your room. Be ruthless and get rid of it all. you will feel so much better.

Do you have any people you are close to for support? I am sorry 💙
kpopfanexo90 · 31-35, F
@caccoon Nope!
caccoon · 36-40
@kpopfanexo90 I'm so sorry. Do you live alone?
kpopfanexo90 · 31-35, F
@caccoon No i live with my mom
SlapHappy · 36-40, M
You might want to start by cleaning up your mess so you can see what's going on. When you take on everything all at once ...it's just too overwhelming.
WowwGirl · 36-40, F
@SlapHappy if you are so smart, why don't you have success? Why didn't you get a career? Why ?

You can tell a lot of people here have never had severe mental health issues.

This is severe depression.
This is what it looks like.

It's not laziness.
When you feel like this, getting out of bed at all is a chore. You literally just wanna lay there and let yourself die.

Try empathy, people.
It's not hard.

I’d love to clean it
The floor is falling apart? 🥺

Please be safe, that could be extremely dangerous
MoveAlong · 70-79, M
Looks ok to me.
Donotfolowme · 51-55, F
@MoveAlong oh yea sleeping on top of the clothes has its own health benefits
I couldn't see the floor, bet you can

Stuff that stuff in leaf bags and sort it out in the garage. Throw most of that stuff away you're never going to use it again anyway.
@JohnnySpot A person living like that won't have a garage.

Where do you sleep?
kpopfanexo90 · 31-35, F
@Tumbleweed couch in living room

If you don't clean shit like this ،it eventually cleans you instead. It will purge you out from existence and has an impact on your ability to form healthy connections and build a life.

I have been in homes like this. First thing to do is downsize.
Donotfolowme · 51-55, F
Nothing else is sinking just the bed, may be the floor is picky what it wants sinking
Cigarguy101 · 41-45, M
This gives me so much anxiety just looking at it
JohnnySpot · 56-60, M
It could be cleaned up in a couple of hours.
nice bed headboard,
calicuz · 56-60, M
When was the last time you went into your room and actually took something out that you could use?
kpopfanexo90 · 31-35, F
@calicuz often
calicuz · 56-60, M
@kpopfanexo90

I would just hire a maid service to clean it up and throw everything away.
Keeper · M
You need to simplify.

Lets take a wild guess.......as soon as ANY guy comes to your place you never see him again.
Do you like have a disability and you can't clean it on your own or are you just a really messy person? This is not normal.
Tumbleweed · F
@kpopfanexo90 I don't think it's just being messy and lazy, there's something deeper going on.

@PiecingBabyFaceTogether My ex son in law had my spare room in this shape. I had to make him leave.

Punches · 46-50, F
@come2gether You don't think that room will grace the cover of Better homes and Gardens any time soon?

But yeah I understand wanting to be in a clean home.
