I have difficulties looking for a job

Sent 60 applications in 2 months already, no reply............
I am tired :(

I'm not saying this is true, but I have noticed that employers are more apt to hire someone who fills out the application and turns it in, in person. Maybe that's the problem. In their eyes, this shows more enthusiasm and initiative. That goes a long way with them. It shows you're not lazy. In their eyes, that is. They are more willing to hire people who will go that extra mile to stand out and above the others. Then after you have filled it out and submitted it, wait 3 days and then write a very professional, neatly typed business letter as a follow-up. That really goes a long way. That's what will get you hired, along with being punctual for appointments, dressed well and neatly, and showing confidence.

@LadyGrace Most large employers here use job portals and you cannot apply for a job by handing in your application(s) in person. Many of them even use AI-driven software to do first (and perhaps second) rounds of culling before any real human involvement happens. This is especially so where a job ad gets thousands, maybe lots more, applications. The most common job ad website here is one called Seek. No longer are jobs advertised en-masse in newspapers. Once upon a time (20 yrs ago) the Saturday newspapers were where all the job ads appeared.

@zonavar68 True, but they are not obsolete. There are plenty of jobs where you can still walk in the door and pick up an application, but that's not ideal if one really wants a job. Initiative and presence mean everything, even today.

@zonavar68 Even a office visit counts. Like visiting the office and state the reason as I have applied for the job here and I really wanted to look at the work ethics and culture that I will have to assimilate into.

Keep going, the best fit is just ahead of you.
I think finding a job is one of the hardest things to do in life. You are constantly trying. You feel like giving up. No one bothers to answer back. It is a lot of organization and effort. Try networking. Sometimes that helps. These days it can take up to a year or more to get a job. You may try looking at a distant city. Cities have more opportunities. You may have to lower your expectations for what you think you want. Good luck. Never give up. Be kind to yourself. It is a hard task.

go in places and actually meet the employers and give them a copy of resume in person

Damn 2 months is a lot. Don't give up. Hopefully you'll get a call soon

What is your job search method and do you attach a resume to your application? Follow up calls are important.

My son applied for an apprenticeship position last month and had two interviews then didn’t hear anything. Three days after his second interview he sent a thank you for the interview email and literally ten minutes later they called and offered him the position

Don't give up. Took me 2 yrs to find a job.

Don't despair... many larger companies have internal policies that require them to post an opening even if they already know who they are going to hire.

Keep at it.
It gives you purpose and is evidence of your stubborn refusal to quit !
I send the odd resume off. I like my current job though. Just need more $$$$
Youll get there. Give yourself small breaks sometimes
zonavar68 · 51-55, M
That's pretty sad, but pre-Covid that was pretty much the norm here too. When I was last in between jobs I submitted hundreds of applications with hardly any responses. Applying for a job is just like dating - you have a very low chance of getting a positive outcome.

Best of luck

It’s awful. Try your friend and associates network, one on the inside is worth 100 on the outside unfortunately
scorpio611 · 41-45, M
Whats your education background ? What role are you looking for ?
Don't just send applications and expect a call, go back and ask for an interview. As a former manager that did interviews and hired, if I didn't hear from an applicant within one week, their applications and resumes were filed away, if not within one month, they were shredded. You need to show initiative.

I should say mashiah then
