It would never happen in today's world with the internet, but I loved at Christmas time how all the department stores decorated all of their store front window displays and entire inner store. And each one had their own Santa for the kids to sit and tell the wish list to. It was like going to a magical downtown Christmas display with my parents and family. I loved them.

But the internet, google, windows, and Bing or whatever replaced a beloved yearly family outing.

@WillaKissing I hate what today's world has become of itself
WillaKissing · 56-60
@HumanEarth Yes, and you could buy hot chocolate and coffee while shopping along with food. What a great by gone era! Woolworths Lazarus JC Penney Gimbels and other chain stores all competed display and food wise to draw in the most customers.

How life was so much easier before the internet and cellphones

My mom she died a long time ago

Television was always free to watch. You never had to pay to watch it or need internet to watch it.

Playing board and card games every weekend. That was a big thing in my family.

Shopping with my grandma and my aunt when I was young at Gimbel's, Boston Store, Woolworth's and other department stores that are now long gone now.

These are some of my best memories that I wish were part of my life today.

The thrill of Saturday morning and after school cartoon watching lol. How great would it beto come home after a long day at work just to sit and watch new episodes ofyour favorie cartoons? The cartoons are too sophisticated nowadays though and none id want to watch. Maybe im just too old lol. Tv has defininitely lost its thrill for me.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@Penny I use to like Bugs Bunny and Scooby Doo. 🙂🙂🙂

Besides the usual my parents and past pet's I miss my dirt bike motorcycles. I use to really enjoy riding. I also miss hanging out with my friends daily. These days we just text at the holidays. ☹️

Going for drives out in the country with Mom and Dad. Riding in the back seat.

I wouldn't want that ALL the time. But once in a while.
Damn this post made me realize how terrible my childhood was because I can’t think of a single thing 😭
