Homosexuality: How did you know?

Sounds like a pretty stupid question, but how could you be 100% sure that you are, indeed, homosexual?

I'm currently debating this with myself. I've gone through straight-phases and gay-phases for many years. Sure, I could probably just slap the bisexual label on and be done but I'm now disgusted at the thought of heterosexual sex. The thought of lesbian sex excites me and gives me butterflies, without me even picturing a specific person. So... what gave it away, for you?

I thought of myself as bisexual for years, and I’ve been through my gay and straight “phases” as well (I’m married to a woman in what has been a sexless marriage for the last 16 years).
Often, I’d get drunk and horny and I’d look for gay porn or photos of nude men....and for a while, I’d say that I became gayer when drunk.
Eventually I came to the realization that, while I can appreciate the beauty of a woman’s body, I’m not really sexually attracted to women and don’t really want to have sex with women....i’m onlt sexually attracted to/wany o have sex with men.

I started going to an adult cinema that showed straight and lesbian porn. But I kept noticing guys getting sucked off in the seats in the back and other shadowy places, and I noticed it was turning me on. Then I let a man suck me off and loved it. Then I decided to suck off a man myself, emulating what I saw up on the screen, and Wowzah! There was no going back.

God, but are we all hung up on labels these days. Gender, preferences, mental health, badges, gaming, career.

If you like a thing, then that's part of who you are; don't worry about that it makes you. A person who enjoys a variety of cultural foods doesn't identify as a Senegal/Jamaica-based pescatarian. He's simply a person who eats food.

When are you 100% sure? Some never are. Just roll with it, enjoy the ride, spread love and adventure and be safe.

@Graylight Wonderful! I learned about the Kinsey scale on a site I used to frequent, and you mentioning the sexuality spectrum, made me think of it. I'd say I'm about a 4.5 to 5 on the Kinsey scale. (Predominantly homosexual, only incidentally heterosexual). So technically the bisexual label fits me best. But I mentally gag at the thought of doing anything sexual with men, although I only have experience with men. I don't know what made me lose sexual interest in men

@RubyDragon Well, they're men for one. But seriously, I love the term "incidentally heterosexual." I may have to start using that.

I use the term bisexual for the same reason. I mostly find women preferable, but for sport I can play another game, too. 😉

when i was 16, i accidentally came across a magazine showing a pic of 2 girls kissing (the article was homophobic tho) and i remember thinking "omg this is so hot, why is this so hot" i consider that as my bi awakening. but looking far back, i remember this one time in the classroom (i was like 9) there was this girl who wanted to me to teach her something, so while i did it, she put her chin on my arm (kinda laid on it) and i remember that i didnt want it to end. it felt really nice and comfortable for some reason

I used to think I am pan, as in I could love anybody. For me it's never been a focus on sex and I will not get with someone who just wants to undress me. With that being said, I feel more attracted romantically to women I feel more easy about having an intimate relationship with them. I am sad that the majority around me feels the opposite as they are only interested in having relationships with men and women are just a fleeting sexual curiosity.

I always thought growing up id be a lesbian, it wasnt until recent years ive enjoyed sex with men. To this day, i still am very attracted to woman, but depending on the person i could be attracted to a man. I believe that has to do with past abuses & assults. I am attracted to selective men, but woman there really is no question if they make me tingle.

Throughout my life I didn't even know it could be an option. My families religion and homophobia led me to hate myself till I was like 22 years old. Then I accepted religion is bullshit, and my family are fucking idiots and here we are. I know I'm gay because men are the only ones who can get my dick hard. A woman kisses me. Nothing. A man does, and I feel fireworks.

Sexuality is fluid and changing
2% of heterosexuals are ex homosexuals for example and 99.8% of lgbt youth change their orientation in less than 13 years
Its just very relative and changing

Aaaw, thank you for each reply, it means a lot!
It also makes me feel more normal now that I know you all went through more or less the same things.

Thanks again!
