No where else other than in the USA is mass murder with firearms a regular thing..

A REGULAR OCCURRENCE... which means

REOCCURRENCE is something that won't only happen but like clockwork you know it will strike again... and again and again..

A bad guy with guns was stopped by a good guy who took the bad guys handgun from him and beat him with that handgun to stop the shootings... but not before the bad guy who had a long gun had used said long gun to kill five people and to wound over twenty more... So that heroic act stopped the killer and put him in the hospital

It happened before... it is going to happen again....This may have been a hate crime..

Which details two separate planned attacks on Jews, one in NJ and the other in NYC. A ghost gun with a 30 round magazine was seized... so was a swastika arm band, a big hunting knife and black mask and bullet proof vest.. Threats had been posted on line in both cases leading to arrests being made in both cases..

An AR style firearm with a high capacity magazine is not designed for hunting and it is not a choice fire arm for target practice... it is the civilian version of a military firearm that was designed and intended for one purpose: to kill the enemy in an efficient manner..

It happens no where else in the world. From the (mis) interpretation of the US constitution to US law based upon that (mis) interpretation to an unwillingness or inability to change the law and with one US party embracing division and a recent US president espousing hatred against immigrants and Muslims and refusing to disavow extremist support and inciting violence himself on a repeated basis... well the goons have crawled out from under their rocks and have been emboldened put into practice what they had previously been successfully restrained from doing...

This is not the first incident of anti LBGTQ violence in recent years.. It is far from the only hate crime that has taken place..

What do other countries do?

Gun safety courses - mandatory and a pre-requisite to obtaining a license..
Fire arms licenses for the acquisition and possession of both long guns and a separate more stringent license for hand guns. Licences must be shown for the purchase of ammunition.
Limitation of magazine capacity to ten rounds.. Prohibition of higher capacity magazines.
Elimination of Self Defence with a fire arm as an available legal option - safe storage and transport laws for firearms - unloaded and locked or disabled for transport..
No carry permits either open or concealed..
There are two and only two allowable and legitimate uses for fire arms.. Target practice and hunting...

For anyone who's LGBT or sympathetic to LGBT rights, now's the time to get a passport and a gun. Doubt it coulda helped in this particular situation, but if you think things are bad now, you can't possibly imagine how bad things are going to get on our country's current trajectory. Ghouls like these only understand violence, and the worst of them are not on in nightclubs or on the streets. They reside in our state and national capitols, in our media, in hateful militias all over the countries, working relentlessly day by day to make America less safe millions. Their campaign is far from over.

It's been a week and this one is fucking with me. A lot of trans friends have shared their incredible fear about just going out in public and how this has been spiked after this, and worsened by people literally saying this was a good thing or the gunman's father going "whew so long as he's not gay".

Like this is not a safe society to be queer and it doesn't matter if they put like, a gay kiss in a Disney movie or something. It's not getting better.

I find the lack of funding around mental health to be so appalling it's a worthy footnote to things but mentally ill people exist in EVERY country and while America is not the ONLY country to ever suffer gun violence there's something uniquely american about it with us getting hit with more of them than everywhere else. Mental illness rates are going to be pretty uniform across the entire planet but somehow we have far more mass shootings than almost everywhere which tells you that while lack of access to mental health services and the lack of funding around it is quite frankly offensive it does NOT mean the primary issue is mental illness. it's the guns, its always been the guns and there's a lobby that's utterly determined to shift the focus away from them. if it were mental illness how is it that every other country seems to handle that one better than we do?

I know. It's horrible, it's tragic, and it must stop.

Easier to get a gun than to vote in most of the USA, also the NRA gets way better treatment than the victims and victims families by our GOP politicians.

Republican Politicians are telling whoever will listen that LGBTQ people are grooming their kids to be Gay. That they are evil people that want to take your kids. This guy most likely feels like a hero today and with GQP Dogwhistles they will get the message out that this guy is no different than Kyle Rittenhouse, a Republican Superstar.

These mass shootings are really worrying. I don't really hear of them elsewhere. Maybe that's why. What he did is a serious crime against humanity itself and should be punished.

It is horrible and worse, we have a huge section of the population backed by big dollars (gun lobbies) that absolutely refuse to even talk about legislation that contains firearms regulation.

It is stupid and I honestly don't know what to say other than maybe if those who refused to deal with it suffered lo9sses in a mass shooting they would wake the hell up.

Pisses me off. You may think I'm for gun control but I'm not. If anything I think LGBT+ people should arm themselves and teach themselves to become proficient. If they can't have a gun for whatever reason, at least pepper spray or a taser if their state allows it plus learning any martial arts will suffice.

I only say this because of Poland's no gay zones, with the current view of LGBT+ people, it's becoming dangerous and if you want to look at how the United States would look if they win, look no further than Poland or any far right led country.

We had one of these degenerates here recently too. Stupid idiots. I'm afraid more of them will creep out of sewers in near future.

This is so horrible, and this is why it is important to keep on doing anything we can for acceptance of gays and lesbians and all the people who are still unjustly discriminated against for their desires or identities or ways of life. Where I am it usually seems as if those battles have been won, but tragedies like this and the many smaller acts of hostility and bigotry that my friends and students experience remind me that our work is not done.

This is just horrible. It needs to END. My heart goes out too to anyone touched by this. 😢🌺

The shooter is non binary and the person who took him down is a military vet so this shooting is going to be memory holed.
