When do you put your Christmas tree up?

Usually the day after Thanksgiving. I just had knee surgery, so I have to recruit help from our children and grandchildren. Hope to get it up by next Wednesday.

I have some permanent Christmas trees near my house; I just decorate them on Christmas.
I don't kill trees just to decorate my home.

When our children were little we couldn't afford a Christmas tree. If we had a tree we would not have a turkey. I came up with a work around. One of our daughters has a little doll cradle. The other had a doll. I cut a piece of cardboard into a 4 pointed star, wrapped it in tinfoil and hung it from the ceiling on a long piece of thread. We filled the cradle with gold coloured tinsel that we had used to decorate our Christmas trees in the past and put the doll, wrapped in old rags into the cradle. The kids each put one of their stuffed animals around the cradle thus creating a creche. To this day the first thing the kids and grandkids do is put up the creche. The number of animals has increased but the same cradle and the same doll and the same star get put up faithfully. Sometimes we put up a tree and other times we don't bother but that creche MUST be put up at least a week before Christmas.

I start decorating the house the day after Thanksgiving but my tree goes up 2 weeks before Christmas and the reason is my husband prefers live trees and I detest them because of the shedding so this way is a win win for us.

Follow up question lol. Do you prefer real trees or fake trees?

On Christmas Eve (24th December).

I used to do real trees, but I always hated the mess and limited span of time before they became fire hazards. I eventually went to fake trees and got to the point where I put it up somewhere between the 1st and 5th of December.

Today

when I bother with it, I like to use the time after thanksgiving. it's still (usually) warm enough to be not so bad, time off, etc, etc. I don't often bother with it anymore.

It use to be on the 21 dec. now the tree I have up now I’ve had up since 2020, lights and all.

I use to wait until after my daughters birthday.

Put it up early this year right after Thanksgiving because my granddaughter was here and she wanted to help decorate.

Usually around thanksgiving, however I bought a new one last weekend at Home Depot and put it up right away

I planted a nice little yew and a juniper in front of the house so i just string up some solar powered lights and enjoy.

Always after thanksgiving usually unless I’m going to be out of town, then I put it up before.

I get a real tree so we don't get one until into December so it can last until the 1st of the new year.

As a child it was always Christmas eve. No fixed date now, but probably mid December.

Usually this weekend.. so, probably tomorrow or maybe tonight if I'm in the mood.

I used to put mine up the day after Thanksgiving. But this year I doubt I'll even put one up.
