It's curious.
The people who are most vulnerable are the least afraid of it.
Now, I do believe you should question everything but it would be incredible if almost every country in the world was part of this massive conspiracy.
From the EU to South America, democracies and dictatorships alike. They're all voluntarily ruining their economies over a non-existent illness?

I think we’re getting to the point where more people either know personally or at least know of someone who’s been dealing with it. And if it continues to spread, that will be the case, unfortunately. Some people can’t believe in anything that doesn’t touch them or their loved ones.

@bijouxbroussard Very true!

We do know that one of the reasons the death rate in America isn't so high is that many of the people now getting COVID are younger.. They have less chance of dying.. but unfortunately there can still be long term effects.. So really everyone should take it seriously

I’m over 30 and I do take it seriously,
I know deep down that the virus is not made up at all, but what I do know is that it didn’t come from a Chinese person eating a bat. That’s a stupid conspiracy made by the mainstream media to motivate racism towards asians. I know it was definitely a bio weapon released in a lab, wether deliberate or not, who knows. But why the fuck was it created? And it would take one evil fucking genius to create this virus.
There’s big money in population reduction and control funded by Bill Gates, Soros, the UN and even the Chinese Communist government. The media are doing their best to cover all that up and mislead us into believing in something that’s going to put extra fear in us to create more divide and conquer.
Am I a sheep for wearing a mask? Some would say yes. But I’m not wearing one because my corrupt government said so. I don’t even know how bad this virus can get, I worry about the people I love who would be more affected by it than I would if I caught it.
To those that think it’s a complete hoax to bring the world in total control, are you not aware that the virus itself would have been created and it being real has the potential to control the surviving masses?
This is why people become ignorant to all the so called conspiracy theories that have turned out to be true, because there are ridiculous ones out there spreading which sound too far fetched for people to believe in and they turn back to their televisions.

@ArishMell here’s one example. On Ted talks, Bill Gates has talked about population reduction.

Here’s some history about the AIDS epidemic just so you know that history is doomed to repeat itself.

[media=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usyQgPU-VrI] some info about the virus being man made and it even has a paten number dating back to 2015

@SW-User Thank you!
I do agree with you about history repeating itself. I am afraid that happens time and time again, but sometimes due to a point I don't think the politicians have spotted.
I think governments plan to avoid some bad event repeating itself, without realising they are expecting it to be pretty well identical; but that won't work. They "learn lessons" and "put procedures in place" to use their jargon, so it won't happen again...
Ah, but it does, sort of, in a different way. No-one can be expected to predict how different, but not considering it might differ significantly, wrong-foots everyone when it does!
So they plan for an epidemic, for example, but are caught off-guard when the diseases itself is not the one expected by previous experience. Even worse when it is so new to humans and spreading so rapidly that everyone has to learn what it actually does, also rapidly.
That's not a criticism of their probity or sincerity, but a thought on human behaviour.
Ironically, whilst appreciating you posting your source material, I can't actually see them, but I guess they are videos or similar.
For some reason SW just replaces videos (and I think music tracks) with big blank areas on my screen. Possibly, incompatible or missing software here, or over-strong security software - I don't know.
I take it the TED Talks are an American TV programme or something? I have heard the generic title but I don't live in the USA.

@ArishMell thank you for taking the time to check it all out, wether we believe in one thing or another no answer is final, answers always get questioned over and over again, every piece of I formation no matter what source or wether they oppose each piece of info all we can do is take it with a grain of salt.

21 and I take it incredibly seriously. You’re right though, so many people I know who are under 30 take it lightly and still go out and hang out in groups, go to restaurants, go to parties/reunions, etc. Smh.
33person · 26-30, M
@AnonymousJSS I am saying that everyone under 30 on here seems to take it seriously. That everyone on here who doesn't is over 30.
33person · 26-30, M
@AnonymousJSS Also, I might add, it almost seems like some of the people claimed to be most germaphobic before this virus (i.e. were so worried about dirty cities and immigrant communities, etc. like Tucker Carlson and his viewers) are somehow not all taking this virus seriously. Here, we have a germ to be really afraid of, and they're asleep. Weird how they think immigrants and people of color are so dangerously germy but that we can take this virus lightly and we'll be alright.

I am 26 and a teacher. I take it seriously and so do my friends and fellow teachers. That fits into your stats.
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
Not offended at all I know people under 30 that take this very seriously and I do also.
curiosi · 61-69, F
More proof the education system has failed. The under 20 crowd don't know how to think for themselves.

@SW-User Vaccines work too, not just hygiene. The U.S. is unique in how many people don't believe vaccines work. We're also unique in how much this country lets the industry get away with robbing us blind. It's not a coincidence.

I'm 31 and I don't take it seriously because I'm not a slave to this political stunt

@ArtieKat I think you already have. I'm not afraid without a mask so go fuck yourself

@ArtieKat and ofcourse its covid 19😆😆😆 Where last year it would have been a whole different REAL diagnosis. I wish your cousin speediest recovery, I feel bad for her. Hopefully she won't be as brainwashed as you

Not sure if it's an age thing. I think it's more about intelligence, a belief in science and facts and, most importantly, empathy for others.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
I don't see why that should be "controversial", despite some of the swearing and thoughtlessness in some of the responses here.
A matter for genuine debate yes, but not "controversy" if that implies bitter arguments and abuse which only cheapen the matter.
What that figure does show, and please bear in mind I do not know its source nor where it applies, is that anything up to 35% of over-30s in the population surveyed, do not take it seriously. That is - or could be - a very large number of people.
Trying to understand how people react to a pandemic, and their reasons, is an interesting and serious matter that governments and medical services do need consider; but it does seem that the present pandemic and public health generally have become mired in highly-divisive politics in one or two countries, and that mire helps no-one.

33person as the old saying goes with age comes wisdom you wish you could put an old head on young shoulders then the danger of corona virus would be taken more seriously
