Being seen helps. Acknowledged and understood. Treating them like a human being with human needs goes a long way. The most success I had working with teenagers came from highlighting the things I appreciated and forgiving the things I didn’t. Funny enough, adults work the same way.

Not anymore both my boys are grow up now. But I remember their teen years 16 - 17 -18 were real frustrating, But they grew up to be fine young men. Cheers and happy weekend!

If he lives on his own and pays for his own food there isn’t much you can do. If not then there is the lesson of not biting the hand that feeds you.

Give them responsibility over certain responsibilities of their life like doing their own laundry , paying their own way and family responsibility like chores...cooking dinner etc.

Let them experience of the realities of sacrifice for the greater good and that life can suck when ur poor 😏
