I feel like I'm done with sw
Some reasons include continually seeing homophobic b/s getting posted continuously even after the person has been informed how they are incorrect

The ignorance, hate, stupidity, prejudice and misinformation isn't limited to issues in relation to the LGBTQ community, it has infected virtually everything, every issue. There is definitely two types of SW user, those who are on the side of light, and those who are on the dark side.
I think the choices for those of us on the side of light, of inclusion, rational thought and connecting with one another are becoming more evident, and more limited every day.
The bigger problem for the SW community is exactly what you are considering... the good people, those on the light side of SW leaving. It appears many already have and here we are with another of the best of the light side thinking of leaving. AthenaArena's leaving will have an effect on the light side, it will dim it considerably.
The real solution is easily at hand, but that's up to the owners/operators of SW, not something any of us have control over. They can make it easy to report and out those on the dark side. Their TOS is weak and allows the hate. That is easy to fix. Why they don't is beyond me.
What I do know is that SW is destined, without those who shine brightly, to becoming a place where only the dark come and it will fail. I was for a short period a member of EP and it was filled with light. Here, even in the relatively short time I've been active, I see the dark creeping in more and more each day. Darkness feeds upon itself and left unchallenged, it overcomes the light.
I have thoughts on how we might keep the light shining, but I'll not post it here. I will say that it would take real heart, real warriors to join hands.

People with different tastes, wants desires and expression yes, but as people, even steven, with the same rights, needs and choices .
This kind of reminds me of femimism : the movement to create equality . Yet some take it so far, it becomes male degradation. I fear sometimes we can fight too hard that we risk tipping over the equilibrium point and losing sight of the orignial goal.

Women have apparently achieved too much without the spector of unwanted pregnancy constantly hovering over them—so that protection had to be removed.
Blacks have achieved a certain amount of political power, so the Voters’ Rights Act that protected our voting ability was disabled.
And now the conservative SCOTUS that actively interfered with those rights is looking at reversing Obergefell.

Its so Big Brother by squashing those who have worked SO HARD, just for EQUALITY . its such a small thing to ask for equal rights to choice and decent living standards , and they want to take it away . Well, they ARE taking it away .

I saw BladeRunner when it first came out decades ago , and i remember sitting in the movie theatre just dumb struck at its depiction of a dark , dirty, poverty stricken future down in the bottom level of polution - and hoping to god this wasnt what itll be like.

Homophobes will always exist because entire religions preach that it’s wrong, or a sin of sorts. The Catholic right in the US. Islam’s not a big fan either.
Honestly, you’ve just got to relax and be less triggered by those with less sophisticated views. I’m sure you have very close friends that you may have vehement disagreement over political views, yet you don’t ostracize them.
Tolerance is a two way street. Only ignorance gets stuck living on a dead end road. They are their own worst enemies, not yours.

I recently blocked another jerk for that. Had the nerve to justify that kind of ugliness with religious fanaticism, saying he’d throw any gay or trans children out of his house, because "love is corrective". People like that don’t know what love is.

I can understand why you’d want to leave. I get the same feeling every now and then.

You’re giving a chance for these kinds of people to have a bigger stage on SW to promote their negativity. Report them then block them. It will help keep your SW existence a bit quieter each day, and only filled with people you can relate to and who can relate to you.
