All i want to see are the newest posts in chronological order, newest first, and I never look past the first page. I have never looked for anything in a category or even noticed the categories. On the few occasions I have posted something I always choose the most unlikely category since I am forced to choose one. Who cares? It's not like there are thousands of people here posting about thousands of subjects.
Crazychick · 36-40, F
@hunkalove There ARE thousands of people here. I was the 496415th person to join and I've been here 5 years. There must be well over a million users by now. They may not post about thousands of subjects but they still exist on this site.
hunkalove · 61-69, M
@Crazychick Most of those people have left. The site keeps them as members because advertising requures numbers to make money for the site. There are maybe 200 active members, and probaby less than 100. This place is dead in the water and has been a long time.
Crazychick · 36-40, F
@hunkalove You know why that is, don't you?
Classified · M
It's because we barely have any legit groups left. People are embracing it by being silly about it vs complaining about it. Before the changes, one of my favorite groups was " I'm A Mermaid". Many have been deleted but I put" my feely" posts there. Besides, does it really matter?!?🤔

@MoonlightLullaby you speak the truth. The groups arent there like they used to be. Thats why it happens!! Doesnt bother me by any means. In the long run, its the post itself that matters!! 🤔
@Indy74
My point exactly. There a million things to worry about, but why choose something so trivial because it supposedly "exudes lack of intelligence". Most people who proclaim it, don't even have it....

@MoonlightLullaby Now, the truth has "really" been spoken!! I agree 100%!! 😀

No one actually likes the group system we just want to 💩post
Crazychick · 36-40, F
@SW-User Most people I know in real life like everything to be organised. Most of us don't want everything all over the place.
SW-User
@Crazychick Most people aren't on SW
Crazychick · 36-40, F
@SW-User Not now, maybe, but they have been at one time or another. There were nearly half a million here when I first joined and that was 5 years ago.

1 it's hard to find a category that fits
2 the category it fits in, isn't well followed so low target audience. Posting in a popular category increases odds of being seen.
3 sw makes it too stupid and time consuming to simply make a post vs. how it used to be.

To me, it honestly doesnt matter, i look at the title of the post most of the time anyways. If i post i find something that kinda fits where it may belong. Anyways, in the long run, its the post that matters. 😁

Too much to choose from which adds to frustration and confusion.

I was only on EP in its later days when things were not particularly working, but I gather that groups there were supposed to be actually communities of people sharing similar experiences. That has totally broken down on here -- as far as I can tell, by deliberate choices of the admins. At this point it is not at all clear what the groups or topics are supposed to be for. -- I disagree with those saying it does not matter. It would be great to be able to check in on a group concerned with experiences I share or things I care about, and know that is what I would find there. -- That does in fact work on Facebook -- but then Facebook actually has millions of users, whereas I agree with the estimate that there are maybe a couple of hundred people active on here.
Carissimi · F
For me, it’s because trying to match my post with an appropriate group is too time consuming, and often, I can’t find a good fit. It was better when I had my own groups that I transported from EP, before they changed it, and made it harder.

I post in whatever They give me .. if I’m talking about jerking off in a McDonald’s bathroom and they suggest a religion section .. so be it !
Crazychick · 36-40, F
@SW-User Bathroom? In McDonald's? Do people have a bath in there after they've had a burger or whatever? Since I've boycotted the place for practically all my life I didn't know they had a bathroom.
SW-User
@Crazychick they do . And a shower and a tv and even a bed for sleeping 🙂
Crazychick · 36-40, F
@SW-User They are obviously trying to coax back all the disgruntled ex-customers who have boycotted them for the last 30 years or so, but it won't work with me.
SomeMichGuy · M
MAIN REASON:
The posting methodology is so tediously complex--and adds VERY little value--that MOST people
• give up, OR
• simply click on whatever, OR
• reuse whichever group they last used
MOOD? Come, ON...I am usually posting facts, or being funny. Add flags which are OPTIONAL, not crazy mood settings which make it seem that you are stuck in the 1970s (mood rings).
I have abandoned many post attempts precisely because of this.
(I note that this does not explain people posting completely off-topic idiocy in serious groups. Perhaps "people are stupid" explains that more than adequately.)

There are not enough categories for all the randomness.
Crazychick · 36-40, F
@ProfessorPlum77 Why don't they just put it in the nearest suitable category?
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@Crazychick That sounds like a question for admin. 🤓

People like being dumb for some reason

@antonioioio Now that's about the dumbest sentence I've ever seen. It makes no sense at all.

Lazy mostly.
I'm sure you have noticed the complaints.
It's also why there are so few long posts.
Too lazy to read or compose anything longer than four lines. 😔

I probably do that a lot and I’m not sure why.
Crazychick · 36-40, F
@BackyardShaman You must have some idea.
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
It’s possible sarcasm at times, post this under “Hello Crazychick and welcome back I missed you”.@Crazychick
Crazychick · 36-40, F
@BackyardShaman When did they add that category? I missed that one. Lol :)

I created the group I post in while on EP, many many years ago. So all my posts go there
Crazychick · 36-40, F
@TheLordOfHell That's different.
CorvusBlackthorne · 100+, M
It is a direct result of Similar Worlds having a tendency to suggest categories, and then move posts they feel are miscategorized.
Nuno · Admin
@CorvusBlackthorne The day we started suggesting groups, the proper categorization of the posts has greatly boosted. What happens sometimes is that users will pick whatever first group is suggested, even if it's not correct, but those users would anyway miscategorize it even if we didn't suggest groups.
