Do you have a friend that is always cheerful and encouraging and doesn't want anything from you except your friendship? People like that are rare.

I have several friends like that. We are there for each other no matter what.

On SW I have several friends like that. In real life, while I have friends, they are definitely not always cheerful. They can't be, nor should they be...they are, all of them, struggling with severe health issues. I try to be there for them when they really need me.

Yes!! And indeed, they are rare.

I have a couple loyal ones just like that. Makes life drastically better, and rare, they most certainly are.💖

I guess. I prefer people to be human. I don't need to be placated or pampered all the time.

I have ONE friend who lives in Pennsylvania (we lived together in Tennessee for 10+ years) who is usually endlessly supportive and kind to me. She would probably be who I would name if someone asked me who my best friend was.

But we live all the way across the country from one another, so we never get to hang out in person, only via phone.

People like that don’t exist, or they died out and are extinct.
