no fun in small town when everyone knows each other.

fart up north and someone at the south end will tell you how good it was...
Adrift · 61-69, F
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout That is a true story.

I appreciate their slower pace, and local flair.
They're where I drive to relax and get away.
XxBlahxX · F
@SethGreene531 that stuff is cute but only for a little while
@XxBlahxX Just the opposite for me. Having spent most my life in large cities, I got sick of the crowds and mania. So a 2-4 hour weekend drive to a town was worth it.

Moved to a small area soon after.

Big cities are still in driving distance, when or if I ever need them.
dirge · M
probably? when I lived in houston, I'd drive 8 hours north to my sister's house in the middle of nowhere for the weekend. but that was more I just knew nobody and I didn't/don't meet new people much. or well.
MoveAlong · 70-79, M
Absolutely not. I was born and raised in a small town in Tennessee that had a city population of about 1700 about 3500 county wide when I was in HS. That kind of environment will definitely stunt your intellectual growth. Or at least it would at that time and place.

I’m into small town stuff tbh, I lived in some big cities, but always was drawn back to where I’m from.
thepeculiarpanda · 36-40, M
Some of it I guess. I like little festivals and stuff but I also really love concerts and hole-in-the-wall restaurants., things you don't get in the small town setting.
Ballplayer28 · 26-30, M
I come fro ma small town in Texas. I too have to drive 2-4 hours for any kind of actual fun weather it be dancing, golf simulator, sporting events etc
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
I'm the person who typically doesn't consider random public events fun. I'm only motivated by very specific stuff like a gig of a favorite band or some interesting art exhibition and the closer to me it takes place, the more likely I would attend.
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
I’ve never lived in a small town so I can’t compare
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
I appreciate both, but don't really do much socializing anymore
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@ScreamingFox I like country drives to other small towns. I don't really socialize either
noexpectations1 · 46-50, M
I live in a small town, it's great! Everything is staggering distance
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
I like them but we travel everywhere to enjoy other towns and cities
FreestyleArt · 36-40, M
I always about small towns. Peace. Quiet and No BS unlike some big wild jungles.

I would have anger issues every day in a big city
noexpectations1 · 46-50, M
@FreestyleArt this!!

DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
I prefer to stay home and have fun.
XxBlahxX · F
@DearAmbellina2113 boooring. I mean it can be fun but....I need outta town air sometimes.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@DearAmbellina2113 This. 😆
Musicman · 61-69, M
My wife and I are just like you. We have driven five and a half hours one way just to try a new pizza place for lunch. Sadly it wasn't worth the drive. ☹
MaryJo1996 · 26-30, F
You don't drive five hours to "have some fun" in the UK unless it's something special. Doesn't matter where you're from.
Ferric67 · M
there's plenty to do here, whenever you want 🤷‍♂
i don't have to go too far
XxBlahxX · F
@Ferric67 do you live in a medium sized city or big city ?
Ferric67 · M
@XxBlahxX I live on the outskirts of NYC
XxBlahxX · F
@Ferric67 oh I already have an outskirts of NYC connection🙂‍↔
Elessar · 31-35, M
The older I'm getting the more I fancy those 2-5k people towns in the mountains
Banksy83 · 41-45, M

All of my fun can be had by not even going outside ....:)
averageguy · 46-50, M
The small town mindset is too small for me
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
So what do you mean by fun? And why do you have to leave town to have it?
XxBlahxX · F
@hippyjoe1955 Fun like events or theme parks or even cool night clubs and even a nice vibe ,it doesn't have to be all out crazy just a place with more options I suppose
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@XxBlahxX Makes sense. If you want a concert you probably won't find one in a small town. I know I grew up near a small town. I have driven 180 miles to watch a movie.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
Is this an open invitation?
RachelLia2003 · 22-25, F
no mid sized city hopes and smol town fears😩
Grew up in a small town and got out of there as soon as I could, they nice for a visit but fuck living there
XxBlahxX · F
@Nunlover that's how I feel
@XxBlahxX get the fuck out of there
BluntSm0ker · 100+, M
