Exposing the hypocrisy of meat based diets

I'm not vegan but I've been getting more plant based lately and checking out different things. So far I haven't really ate meat for about a month now.

There's a lot I didn't know. I'm used to carnivore influencers but when you check out things they believe and what goes on behind the scenes, there's a lot of propaganda that comes with a meat based diet. A lot of things I previously believed aren't true.

I'm not going to go the ultra vegan route that meat is bad per se, obviously longer lived people eat meat too as well as vegans, that one vegan heart surgeon who lived to 98 but I have noticed I been doing better on a plant based diet.

I'm also not gonna lie, I've been plant based as a stance against right wingers who are all about their steaks. I hate their meanness so much this year.

I've been a gymnast since my early youth and diet had always been on the forefront of most conversations in my family. I adopted a no-meat, no-sugar, no-fat diet early on in the game, like prior to high school. One of the problems with eating red meat like beef is that it takes about 3 full days for meat to digest in the human body, which means the body has to produce enzymes it wouldn't normally produce JUST to break down the red meat during the digestion process. What this means is, red meat is actually foreign to the human body which is why we shouldn't be eating it.

Another reason why we shouldn't be eating red meat is because of the growth hormones that remain active in red meat long after the animal has been readied for market. Those growth hormones then become active in the person who eats that red meat containing growth hormones. This is why young girls are developing breasts years sooner than their counterparts of 40 and 50 years ago when growth hormones were not used in beef production. This would also speak to the issue of such a high incidents of breast cancer developing in young adult women today that was never seen in young women 40 and 50 years ago.

@SatanBurger
I know! Makes you think, right?!

@swirlie Milk is foreign to the human body and we shouldn't be 'eating' it either.
swirlie · 31-35, F
@zonavar68
That is correct. Milk is only intended for infants but not adults.

I've been largely vegetarian since university, when I took it up because I found it was possible to eat more cheaply and interestingly. Later I formed the view that farmed meat is an extremely inefficient way of producing calories . . if it takes 20kg of grain to produce 1kg of beef why not just eat the grain? I also feel more comfortable eating fresh produce that has had minimal processing. I am not ideologically attached to any particular diet - we don't restrict dairy and have recently reintroduced some meat to our meal plans for the sake of our teenage daughter - but I do admit it is quite satisfying to annoy certain right wingers 🤣

@SunshineGirl That is their skin tone not their hair. We had back pigs and brown pigs and pink pigs on the farm The hair on the pink pigs is hard to see especially on the little ones. When they grow up they have lots of hair.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@hippyjoe1955 Those are Devon Blacks. Our old landlord bred them and we ate them. They are pretty hairy 🐷

Note the superb ear design (to keep mud out of eyes).

I always try to balance both. I love my raw plants and my meats, but after my after my bloodwork test. My LDL are levels are slowly climbing.

Its time to push more veggies and less meats

My diet is akway changing with my age.

I'm 57 by the way

At the end of the day, our bodies are actually adapted to a wide range of foods. The issues tend to come when mixing certain kinds of fat with certain kinds of carbs. It's not that fat is bad for you vs carbs are bad for you, it's the chemistry between them. High carb, low fat. High fat, low carb. Moderate fat, moderate carb. Our bodies are pretty good at managing all of those. It's the high fat, high carb combination that does a lot of damage.

I've done very well on a high meat keto diet in the past. I'll probably do it again in the future. Though I go meat heavy for satiation I am very nutrient minded and never went full carnivore.

Pretty sure I would be miserable if I went full carnivore or full vegan.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@ViciDraco I'm not saying our bodies are not adaptable but there is a lot of propaganda out there too. I've done keto as well and felt great but also in the video it talks about people having to go to the hospital for heart issues on a carnivore diet.

You never hear those stories but they're out there. Apparently there's this big thing that you don't need statins, a lot of carnivores say that and someone ended up going to the hospital out of ignoring it due to a big movement in the carnivore community that you don't need statins. And the people saying it often have medical backgrounds which is why people listen to them on YouTube.
ViciDraco · 41-45, M
@SatanBurger and that's part of why I have never gone full carnivore.

Honestly, balanced whole foods seems to be optimal based on all of the actual science I've seen. You could theoretically process food to be healthier, but that's not what we do. We process it to be more addictive and so most of our processed foods are trash. Because profit motive is actually not at all aligned with human wellness. That's also why I never take influencers at face value.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@ViciDraco I'm sure you can be balanced omnivore but you can pretty balanced as a vegan too. They cherry pick people who are raw vegans or don't get their protein in but I can name 20 or so competitive swimmers, body builders and marathon runners who are vegan. It's not that hard, I was looking at what they eat and it's pretty simple. People make it harder cos they have food addiction.
Massageman · 70-79, M
I eat meat. I eat eggs (a poultry product, so I'll be darned if I know why they are put with the milk in the stores). I eat "complementary" non-meat protein. Meats and eggs have all the essential amino acids humans need to have to manufacture protein in their bodies. Corn and rice have some of those essential amino acids. Legumes, nuts, beans have some other essential amino acids. If you eat beans and rice, or beans in a corn tortilla, you will also be getting a combination of all essential amino acids, if they are eaten simultaneously. In a good diet, both grain/legume and meat/egg/milk combos are used as sources of complete amino acids for our bodies.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Massageman You can get complete proteins with veganism as well. There's a few vegan women who are really built on a vegan diet. There's one who enters body building competitions.
Massageman · 70-79, M
@SatanBurger. If you eat beans and rice, or beans in a corn tortilla, you will also be getting a combination of all essential amino acids, if they are eaten simultaneously. (as I already said) But I will still eat meat.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Massageman Honestly, I never stated for you to not eat meat why you gotta make it personal. Meat eaters are too sensitive.
Lilymoon · F
I'd love to go plant based but I'm thin to begin with and going on that diet I'd lose too much weight. Also I've noticed vegans especially are always pale and kind of sickly looking

@SatanBurger yeah couldn't click on it
Torsten · 36-40, M
Sorry but a healthy diet is meat, vegetables and fruit.
Cutting out any of those is not good for you
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Torsten I really don't post to argue, I'm honestly surprised as most of the things I post are things that everyone should have anger for like how people are being treated. It never ceases to amaze me the Trumpers that come in my posts to approve of that behavior. Literally and you're not going to tell me that I'm not. It surprises me every single time because some of the things being done is just so outrageous I don't expect anyone to stick up for people like that.

And when I post videos, I mean look... this video isn't even too controversial and yet look at you lol..
Torsten · 36-40, M
@SatanBurger funny thing is im not even arguing here. Im just calling you out on your lie. Im dont with the topic of this thread, you made it that way when you kept tryi g to antagonize into what this is now.

Ahh didnt take long before you tried to bring your political bias into this randomly haha. You stand on fake moral high ground yet keep exposing yourself.

You can say a lot of things about me but at least i am honest about myself. I do t think you can say the same for yourself.

Have a good day. Im ending this now cause honestly im just bored of going in circles here. Boredom is what made me first comment in this thread and boredom is what is making me leave.
Bye
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@Torsten That's not what I'm saying. I posted a simple video, watch or don't. Or just continue telling me how you'll keep on eating meat as if it has anything to do with what I posted.
