What would you call a Bar .Pub or Night Club ??

Crazychick · 36-40, F
A pub is called a pub. A night club is called a nightclub (sometimes written as one word "nightclub"). They all have a bar in them.
@Crazychick White rose of Yorkshire man..??
Crazychick · 36-40, F
@TheStranger Is that where you're from? Yorkshire? I live in Manchester, so I'm not all that far away from you.
@Crazychick I am indeed from Yorkshire.

All pubs have bars, but not all bars are pubs. A pub refers to an establishment that serves alcoholic beverages, but also hosts other amenities such as food, music, games, etc. Some can even serve as stores, post offices, etc. Most places referred to as bars are technically pubs, but a true bar in the sense of being a bar and nothing else is a place that only serves alcohol. Nightclubs are a whole different thing altogether, with most being venues that emphasize on drinking and dancing. A nightclub could be referred to as a bar since most have one, but not all of them do. In which case, they would simply be a nightclub or a dance club.
@Ducky I am smiling. Thats a short story 🙂🙂🙂🥂

@TheStranger Lol. Happy to help.

They are three different things! A Bar is just that...a long bar where they serve drinks. Usually a small establishment with only a few tables.

A pub is English or Irish themed here in the United States, and the decor and music are usually reminiscent of pubs in England and Ireland. Pubs are usually small.

A night club is a much larger venue with a dance floor, a stage for the band or DJ, and lots of tables. The bar in a night club is usually huge...double sided.
@4meAndyou Thank you for telling me that.🍻🍷🥂

If it was old and classy like maybe id call it a pub, a typical bar around here is usually called a sports bar, and if its more focused on dancing id call it a night club
@Rokan 😄👍

@Rokan dancing be a cue to sex hookups with other drunk people.
Rokan · 31-35, M
@zonavar68 A night club doesn't have to serve alcohol at all so I wouldn't say dancing is only to find sex.

Somewhere to drown your sorrows.

Bars (the venues called a 'bar') and clubs (the places called a 'club' or 'nightclub') are places to avoid at all costs. They are pick-up joints aka human meat markets where sad-sack men and women hang out.

Pubs are social venues that are generally family-friendly community meeting places.

do you mean to include them all or what I would name one?
@Jackaloftheazuresand one will do 👍👍👍
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
@TheStranger okay then I'd call it The Slab and Horn
@Jackaloftheazuresand 👍👍👍
A bar. The alcohol unwelcomes everyone like me and the bar included everyone who is everyone my entire life.
my normal rule of thumb - pubs serve food, dance floor at a night club, everything else is just a bar.

Bars are to pubs as nightclubs are to meat markets

The local nomenclature here is bar... or nightclub
What would i name one? Or what do we refer to them as?
@SStarfish name one ..
@TheStranger i'd have to think about it 😊

Phartsy's

It depends on the venue because one name is inappropriate for all venues.

It depends on their business model, just drinks, a bar, if they serve food, a bar and grill, or a tavern, if they're UK based, a pub.
