Best thing i ever did was quit drinking

I feel lighter, brighter and instead of surviving im thriving. I look better i feel better I'm getting stuff done. Too bad it's taken me so long but the point is i did it.

Congrats . I cant drink but only due to ill health and taking alot of meds that are keeping me alive . At times I have honestly thought about stopping taking them . My doc said if I stop taking them I would be gone in a few days up to a couple of weeks if lucky .
That's great! I'm so happy for you! The best possible choice.

I cut down to once a week and I vow if I ever break that, it's nothing at all. I don't recommend everyone doing that though (depending on the hold it has on you!).
I drink less since I got my crane operator license. Idk if i dare quit all together with a numbfuck like Biden in the whitehouse. I cant conform to that stupidity.

Good for you!But it does make you wonder what would happen if they actually invented the Synthahol stuff that is used in Star Trek.

I stopped drinking this month. I only bought red wine vinegar but in April, I'd resume. 😂
@dubkebab I understand how it might help to be surrounded by others who are going through the same struggles with the same addiction as you are... maybe you can get some tips on how to manage your addiction - or just a sympathetic ear if it's been a rough week since your last visit.

I sometimes see others on SW who are struggling with alcohol addiction and I try to help and support them through that. I admit that I'm a troll - but even a troll can't always turn a blind eye to other people who are struggling and clearly reaching out for help to stay on their wagon (whichever one they are struggling to stay on).

@HootyTheNightOwl These are words of wisdom.
I've been able to help some sufferers along the way just like fireman Mike,Steveman, Phil and others nurtured my shambling wreck along the path to a happier destiny.
I'm one of the lucky ones.
This shit kills and painfully destroys families in the process.

Me too. I used to find it hard to imagine life without alcohol. Now I often wonder why I ever drank in the first place.
