Do you have dessert every day or often after your meal?

I’ve been reading posts/comments that some of you have dessert regularly. I’m curious about this because I was raised that we only had dessert on special occasions

Just curious! Not judging

almost always

HumanEarth · F
Almost never, portions are too big for the main meal when the rare times we do go out to eat.

So there is no room for desserts.

If they would serve smaller portions, then I might have room left over for the dessert.

@HumanEarth Exactly this. It only makes sense after a light meal or after something that didn't turn out very well so I need to fix the aftertaste.

Growing up, we did not have dessert regularly after a meal. We would have fruit at the end of supper. But as kids we would get a sweet snack before bed.

As an adult, I have continued the practice of fruit at the end of the meal. I did spend many years snacking on sweets during the day, but I severely cut back because I do not want to become diabetic.

Nowadays, I limit myself to a small treat on Saturday and Sunday, and none for the rest of the week, unless it is a special occasion or we have dinner guests.

I confess that this has been a norm in our family gatherings (normally over the weekend) but at some point I realized how I actually hate eating something sweet right after the meal. I'd wait an hour or two or actually eat something sweet before the lunch but definitely not immediately after like my family does. I'm full and still enjoying the normal food, why would I stuff my stomach with anything extra that I can't even savour properly?

Hardly ever. But I have decided more than once to REPLACE dinner with dessert. ;)

When I grew up we would often though not every night have a small bowl of ice cream before bed. Now I very rarely eat dessert.
Not always, but sometimes you have to leave room for some kind of chocolate dessert 😊

I eat a candy bar after lunch, but we seldom have dessert after dinner.

Most Sundays, but quite often it's later

I don’t eat any kind of sweets. Sometimes fruits.
GoFish · 41-45, F
Sometimes i have it instead of a meal 😅
Not everyday no then twice a week for some time but these days maybe twice a month. However I always have a cookie or a biscuit or a piece of chocolate with my morning and after noon coffee. And my dinner is cereal with sugar or honey. So I can survive without heavy dessert.

Ah, I was raised the same as you were.

As an adult I treat myself to dessert after dinner, but I try and make it healthy. Mostly I will have some sort of fruit. Ice cream is a weakness I will not deny in fear of God striking me down with lightening for lying. LOL

Most meals yes

My partner would love a desert or two everyday as we grow lots of rhubarb and fruit. I make a large cake once a week and perhaps one desert. The rest of the time we have fresh fruit.

Not every day. Sometimes I go through stages where I’m eating it every day. Last week I had fruit with some sugar free chocolate sauce over it nearly everyday with dinner

Hardly ever and then only if it's what i call a proper dessert, none of this pretentious roulade or souffle stuff for me.
I believe that if you have room for dessert, the meal wasn't big enough.

Want to really fuck with someone? Eat dessert first and also wrap your arms around it - guard it with your life

They will assume you are just out of a long prison stretch 😁😈
BrandNewMan · 61-69, M
No .. occasionally a yogurt bar, dark chocolate covered espresso beans or other small indulgence but seldom a traditional dessert
PHlover19701 · 56-60, M
Im the same. Dont have dessert very often. Just once in a while for special occasions or you just get that craving for one.
I'm underweight but have a sweet treat almost every day. I don't eat enough calories however and do eat mainly vegetables
Sometimes before a meal, and after. I think it's probably over doing it, but I despise hunger.

Not like I used to. Sometimes it is nice, depending on my mood at the time
Domking · 61-69, M
Not every meal, but yes, quite frequently!

Not very popular these days, but I like it
mindstruggle · 31-35, F
