Whar would you add?

I'd have ketchup, mustard and fried onions. I havent had one of these for about 10 years.

I would throw away that bun and hotdog.

Replace it with a grain roll and a butcher's sausage.
Fried onions, cheese then grilled and add grain mustard, home made tomato sauce, fresh herbs and 🌶.

I also did not read the instructions......

A bin so I can throw it out an make myself something nice. The bread is horrible and so is the sausage. I would have a nice fresh cob with a German bratwurst, wholegrain mustard and some red onion chutney

I think I’d have the same except that looks like a steamed dog , I’d prefer a fried one and the onions could be either fried or not .

Now here in the store dogs cost a dollar a dog. Not all that cheap anymore for a cookout.

@PoetryNEmotion ohhhh yea. Broil or grill until it's slightly charged, then slit it down the middle and lay a strip of cheese. Leave on the grill until the cheese melts. Hotdogs are an art category.

@Heartlander My last partner liked hot dogs. He makes them that way. I load on the toppings. Never ate hot dogs until him. More a cheeseburger kind of woman.

@PoetryNEmotion I think Freddie's (the US fast food chain) serves their hot dogs split like that.

I personally elevated hotdogs to the serious food category when had my first Chicago style hotdog. Until then it was like just a weiner and a bun with mustard sometimes, or maybe chilli.

Haha I had a bratwurst at the Christmas market but my jacket stank for days. It put me off sausages 😒

First, I'd switch the dog for an all beef with natural casing.
Then I'd add mustard, onions and a vinegary cole slaw
