I did. After covid? I wont go. But I only ate at Asian buffets for their cheap seafood. Loved it.

I went to a hometown buffet .. and wasted $13 because I had one plate .. all I had was mac n cheese and meatloaf . And 2 slices of pizza .. but I did have some ice cream afterwards..
calicuz · 51-55, M
@SW-User

Yeah, but they make you pay for that too. 🤷‍♂️

Haha....... I can see you stuffing Brisket down your bra now. 🤣

God no, my idea of hell. Why would anyone choose to eat somewhere where half the town has breathed over and potentially touched the food. Do you know how many people don’t wash their hands after using the toilet or coughing or sneezing 🤢🤮
LordShadowfire · 100+, M
@SW-User Yeah, especially since COVID proved that people are revolting.
Convivial · 26-30, F
Interesting in that it of often shows the worst of people

I'd have to say Jamaica......Left Maine during a raging Nor'easter snow storm, and hit the Caribbean later that day where, it was bleddy awesome. Lost myself in the warm sea, went snorkeling, jumped off the platforms at Ricks Cafe (yep, yep.....you guys who've done it too know what I'm sayin') and was gob-smacked at the humongous buffet at the all inclusive resort I was staying at.
Coming home.....welcome back to New England. They'd been slapped with another huge snow storm, and I had to literally dig out my Tundra at the off-site place off Logan. After I got myself dug out....I was doing some serious shivering in the cab as it warmed up. I slapped auld Thor inta gear and bludgenoned myself out of my parking space before hitting the highway for home.
Great memory regarless. It's the extremes that make it right?

I really miss the buffets in India, the ones in Canada barely have any variety or flavour (except for some restaurants in the GTA)
IcyDragonflyB · 41-45, F
@SW-User I believe it. I feel the same about regular buffets in US. 😭
SW-User
@IcyDragonflyB ikr my friend showed me the American version of Doordash and I was like omg barely any variety 🤐
IcyDragonflyB · 41-45, F
@SW-User Yesss! In LA there is. But where Im at? No. 😄🤣
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
Spiral Buffet in Manila. It's attached to a culinary school and has contracts with farmers for certain items. If they don't have it, they will cook it. Yes, they have a bar.
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
Yes , if you are short on cash you hit a buffet and stuff your face so you're good for two days . Lol.
Last time I went to one they had crab legs .. yum
eventtemple123 · 22-25, M
There was a really good Indian buffet in Atlanta before covid. The restaurant is still open, but they don't do the buffet anymore.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@eventtemple123 Indian buffets start out good here then they start reducing the heat to appease a few customers who complain. My last favorite buffet’s Indian cook quit & they replaced her with Mexican cooks who don’t know how to season & cook the same way. I got heartburn so bad last time I went I couldn’t sleep all night long. Never happened before at after having Indian food even with the very spicy ones.

Yes I love a good buffet.. I remember way back when my brother and I were going to the U Kentucky he was the university mascot and ran with a lot of football players and basketball players(we played from 5th grade thru highschool but the city built the sidewalk too close to our ass and people thought we were short. I should've sued the city) anyway my brother and friends were barred from a couple of buffet places for eating too much. It was almost gross how much they packed away.
East Maitland bowling club..

That shit is the bomb…

But covid killed all the all you eat places 😭
save until you can afford to go to a real restaurant
thepreposterouspanda · 36-40, M
Nahhh I worked at one too long to really enjoy them. 😅
deadgerbil · 22-25
No. People are sneezing and coughing everywhere. Customers don't have to adhere to any sanitary measures

At the store I worked at, there was a customer who literally stuck her hand into this salad bar to eat olives or whatever and walked away.

People act like stupid pigs and this is why diseases spread like wildfire
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
The best buffet I went to was in the Bellagio in Las Vegas. Alaskan king Crab legs and Kobe beef...that was good. What i didn;t understand was given all the high end food choices, and this buffet is pricey, people were eating macaroni and cheese.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
Buffets aren't like, a supreme way to enjoy food since you tend to have a lot of stuff over steam tables where quantity reigns over quality. But I've been to some pretty fuckin' great Indian buffets.
Morrowind · 26-30, M
Tbh I never go to them because I hate eating in. But when I was a kid there was one called Ryan’s which closed down but I loved their rolls. My mom used to sneak them in her purse for me.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
There used to be a Hometown Buffet in south Oklahoma City and it was really good. The quality was always good. Always enough food even if a crowd was there such as lunch on Sundays.
Pfuzylogic · M
Willie and Red’s Buffet in Hagerstown Indiana has to be on the top of the list!
Pfuzylogic · M
@itsok
Just behind Golden Corral
and butterfly shrimp of course!
😅
itsok · 31-35, F
@Pfuzylogic much better 😌
Pfuzylogic · M
@itsok
If you have just a few bucks!
I think Willies cost about $25-35 and Golden Corral is half that!
No.😔

I'm disturbed they needed something called a "sneeze guard".
Then, standing in line, profiling who's done what to which item.

The Radisson Hotel has a fabulous Mother's Day Brunch. I took my mother there for several years.

I do… although I liked them more before covid
I still hit a local pizza place that has a decent buffet

A Berkeley restaurant called His Lordship’s had an awesome Sunday brunch buffet (every other day, it was a regular restaurant). It still required reservations, and it was really nice, with window looking out on the Bay.
MonaReeves86 · 36-40, F
I like buffets but I can’t eat that much I like to eat but not in one sitting
SW-User
Yes if I wasn’t so shy about going up for seconds lol 💀

Not really. I never eat much food in one sitting.

When I was a kid, my dad always wanted to go to North's Chuck Wagon. Mom hated it, but I loved it.

@LordShadowfire Shadowfire! 😄

I used to love them, before the diabetes. Probably explains the diabetes, lol.
