A sick of butter and garlic salt try it sometime

JesseInTX · 51-55, M
Got 2 doe at the processor right now and 4 good size backstrap in the freezer. This weekend will be doing some chicken fried. Love venison.
JesseInTX · 51-55, M
Some Cajuns, but some from down here. The Gulf coast especially from LA to TX we’re kindred spirits @TexChik
@TexChik @JesseInTX I got a friend in New Orleans and she’s got family in Spring Tx. They stayed there when it flooded out from all the storms .
JesseInTX · 51-55, M
@JustGoneNow I know so may people that live in Spring! All dpendef on what side of the creek they were on. Buffalo Bayou is what flooded me

@Lostpoet You really need an education. Deer dont have hopes and dreams. Only humans do. They dont want to be ripped to shreds by predators while still alive, they dont like disease, drought, temperature extreames or starvation. They are creatures of habit capable of some learning and remembering. But when they are mature, and the carrying capacity of our land is met, some are harvested for the health of the herd and because I like venison.
Lostpoet · M
@TexChik I was just being a dick and I agree with some of that they also don't want to be hunted and shot and eaten. They do have biological needs like to breeding and nurturing their young and I'm sure they enjoy the sun on their back, cold water, the taste of grass.
Notanymore · 41-45, M
@Lostpoet it's serious and deep business taking a life for nourishment.
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
soak it in milk overnight, will remove most of the "gamey" taste
ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
Looks good! You did well. Hope you enjoyed it. We have a freezer full. No additives, hormones..chemicals..just good meat.
ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
@hippyjoe1955 omg!!! That ain't right!
We take are deer to an old preacher man too..lol... His sons and him have a building that is equipped with all butcher's equipment. They grounded most for us. Any steaks, chops they run thru the tenderizer..like cube steaks. Haven't had any meat that tasted bad in 8yrs.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@ShadowWorker Normally we don't have that problem either. That one time we did. I have no idea why or what happened but the roast was so bad the dog wouldn't eat it.
ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
@hippyjoe1955 if a dog won't eat... there's the proof it was nasty bad.
Mmm. Love venison. It’s usually not too gamey as long as it’s a somewhat younger buck.
@MethDozer Don’t answer, if you’re not comfortable saying.
MethDozer · M
@MethDozer That’s a cool place. Beautiful and very rural. You’re basically just as rural as me. ✌️
I love venison, including the liver. Everybody around me liked the heart too but I didn't.
Harlow · 31-35, F
@Mamapolo2016 i didn’t like the version but my sister did. I like liver though.
TexChik · F
As long as there is no fascia or fat , the gaminess is not noticeable. How are you cooking it?
Harlow · 31-35, F
@TexChik i marinated it first and then just fried it in butter. I used this marinade recipe
TexChik · F
@Harlow Wow looks interesting. I will just batter (egg, milk, garlic salt, pepper) and fry mine (Hind quarter steaks) . The back strap I usually cut, bacon wrap, and grill with seasonings. I have soaked venison in BBQ sauce and grilled it too. Its really good, hope you enjoy it

Coppercoil · M
Oh wow.. I'm a big meat eater and boy oh boy dies this look good. Hope it tasted as good as it looks!!!
Harlow · 31-35, F
@Coppercoil I thought it was okayish. My sis really like it though and she’s a bigger meat eater than me. A friend gave us steaks to try.
Coppercoil · M
@Harlow food job! I am sure I would love it!
PTCdresser57 · 61-69, M
Use onions when cooking it
Spokeskitties75 · 46-50, M
I love me some deer bologna and pickled deer heart!
WillaKissing · 56-60, M
If you Marinade venison in Kraft Zesty Italian salad dressing 8 to 12 hours before cooking it, it draws out extra blood from the Venison and makes it tender. then season and cook as you desire!

I mad venison spaghetti tonight myself. With ground venison I do not marinade it.
SubstantialKick · 36-40, M
Looks tasty.
GrayJessie · 36-40, M
Looks delicious, that's enough meat for 3 days for me though 🤭, to each their own ❤️
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
I've had it, but didn't particularly like it.
LunarOrbit · 56-60, M
Yum!

Looks delicious!
Jimmy2016 · 61-69, M
🤔....Elk....Elk Chile.....yummy...
Notanymore · 41-45, M
Looks good!
Rutterman · 46-50, M
That looks so damn good. Hope you enjoyed it. I know I would.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
Delicious! 🙂
MethDozer · M
I love venison if it isn't overcooked.
@MethDozer That’s what you have to be careful with. So lean, their’s no fat to cook off and they burn quickly.
MethDozer · M
@JustGoneNow Yep, it cooks way faster than beef.
@MethDozer We’re cattle ranchers. I totally get it.
