learning to eat in moderation is THE best way to lose weight without feeling deprived...which is the number one reason "diets" rarely work

@Primnproper: For sure..pull back. Allowing yourself a burger and fries maybe every several weeks or so I think keeps that forbidden food thing from happening.

If you have a reasonable income, Ideal Protein works very effectively. (or at least it did for my wife and I) - the drawback was spending about $100/week each on all the foods they supply, on top of meat & fresh vegetables.

Failing that, lots of salads & vegetables, plenty of lean meat, as little carbs as you can endure, and zero sugars/sweets

ETA: I lost about 60 pounds over 9 months using Ideal Protein, and have lost another 30 or so in the last 12 months, just doing the salad/vege + meat routine.
Vegetables + herbs

Vegetables should take up 2/3 of your dinner plate. You only need a little protein.

Quit eating white bread and stay away from baked goods.

When you want candy, or sugar, eat protein and fruit.

Move around more. Go for walks someplace you want to explore. Clean the garage you've been ignoring. Do yard work.

Ok so I'm allergic to most everything yummy like white bread, eggs & dairy or I would be all about the doughnut. but chronic pain, hives and acne make me think twice before eating a cruller. i miss them so much *cries a little*

Simple Plan:

Put whatever amount of food you Want to Eat on your plate.
Before sitting and eating, drink 12 to 16 ounces of Cold Water.
Now, no matter what it is, throw 1/3rd of each of the foods on your plate away!
Do this every meal, every snack, every calorie you consume.

Interesting plan. Would work for some.
I have a mom, who eats so very little.
so little

She makes a soy/fruit smoothie for breakfast.
Sometimes its just coffee and toast.
She will eat half a sandwich for lunch, at most.
Sometimes a handful of sunflower seeds for 'dinner'.

She walks between 4 and 6 miles a day at least 5 days a week.
By 3 PM she is done eating for the day

She has never been less than 50LBS overweight.
It's not only about food for everyone.

I don't think the woman could starve to death. Her body would never allow that.

Bake or grill your broccoli instead of steaming it, it'll taste much better.
yes, no White Food,, bread rice potatoes sugar
LOTS of raw plants all want,, the leanest meat,, olive oil not butter.
5 small meal a day instead of three big ones will help
TRY seaweed.. can rep[lace chips, cut out beer,, if you drink have a "Skinny Bitch" vodka soad and a squeeze of citrus

Eliminating processed foods, fried foods, and fast foods from your diet would be a big start. Eat lots of green leafy vegetables, fruits, and relatively low fat meats. Legumes, are also very healthy but don't overdo it with carbs.

try organic veggies fruits, and lotsa carbs 2 fill u up so u dont get inclined 2 eat snacks. Oh yeah and excercise

Organic veggies are generally unaffordable where I live which is why I grow as many of my own as I can.

Don't keep treats in your home - if they're not there, their capacity to entice you is significantly diminished! :)
