£5.02 in loose change. A little more than I had expected!
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
I’ll have to count the change can…at least $100 in quarters alone.
@cherokeepatti My Uncle use to save all of his change daily. Then once a year he would take it to the bank and use the proceeds for a vacation.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Musicman yeah when I was a teen we did that. Gas was cheap, we’d go out of state and stay at relative’s home, that was our vacation. My uncle worked in the kitchens at the university. After the students moved out in May they let the food service workers who didn’t want their vacation time used right away worked in the dorms. Would give him and some other guys the job of de trashing rooms. Back then in the late 60’s students were tossing change around in their room and not picking it up when they moved out. He’d get quite a bit that way. Enough to buy gas for vacation. I heard old-timers who had worked back then say they’d find enough change during the school year in the dorms laying on couches, under cushions, and on the floors that it wasn’t unusual to have enough to go eat lunch on. They weren’t so tight with their daddy’s money back then.
@cherokeepatti I definitely believe that. Rich kids generally don't seem to care or worry about money.
