Email from the school

So as if I don't have enough going on this week I get an email from the school about my youngest boy. It asked me to call them to schedule a meeting.

So I call and of course I'm worried and trying to get any information but I'm told that his teacher and counselor want me to come have a meeting with them. Again I ask why but the receptionist doesn't have any other details.

So I make the meeting for first thing tomorrow morning and I'll just reschedule my doctor's appointment I had.

I check his school portal daily. He's grade's are good, no messages from any of his teachers, all positive remarks so I have no idea what this can be about.

But now I'm stressing out and over thinking everything!

I don't see how it can be bad.
Maybe they found out about him giving lunches away and wanted to be sure you knew about it.
I'm terribly curious.
If it were me I don't think I'd tell him or ask him about the meeting ahead of time. If he knew about it, he'd volunteer the information without being asked. I think you should find out what the school has to say before saying anything to him.

@Cigarguy can understand your alarm and yes bt what you say you could be overthinking this. does your son not know the reason then for this meeting

@smiler2012 ill check with him tonight. I just checked his school portal again and there is nothing that stands out.

@Cigarguy nothing to worry about sound like you can attend this meeting relaxed with no hidden agendas

What if it is something awesome? Like them wanting to put him into an accelerated program? It's probably not that...but what I'm saying is...don't stress.
Cigarguy · M
@4meAndyou who me, I never stress what are you talking about.

Calm down, if it were that serious, they'd have had you in right away... the fact they scheduled the meeting is obviously not a sign that they are expelling him. If he has special needs, it could be to do with his needs plan.

@HootyTheNightOwl he just had his planning meeting when a week after school started and everything went well during the meeting. I am just stressing because it's what I do.

Hope everything is ok

@YoMomma me too, I've called Joel and he's doing his best to calm me down.

@Cigarguy ok..

Not sure what his age is, but did you try asking him if he knows anything about it?
Cigarguy · M
@Younameit he's 7 and I will ask him when he gets home. I don't see how it could be anything bad.
