shoes? yes. hat? i don't mind
4meAndyou · F
No. I live in a carpeted apartment building. Our cleaning service vacuums the rugs in the lobbies and the hallways once a week, and by the time any visitor arrives, his or her shoes are already fairly clean.
Although...I DO recall...once...my annoying friend came in from the snow and ice outside, (which had been well salted)...wearing boots with deep groves. As he sat in my house, the snow in the grooves of his boots melted in a nasty dirty little puddle right where he was sitting.

Only if their feet are muddy or noticeably dirty. It's nice when they do on their own, but I don't demand it. I always remove mine when coming in.
Hat doesn't matter.

I remove mine as a courtesy. If they don’t in my house, I don’t say anything.

@JackDaniels Well reasoned 👍

Never asked anyone too unless shoes were muddy. The pile of shoes in rubber trays near the entry usually takes care of it.
Nimbus · M
@BrandNewMan A considerate provision 👍

HowtoDestroyAngels · 46-50, M
