I'm truly hoping I don't live that long so it doesn't concern me. Mainly because people now ignore the lesson of learning and not repeating the mistakes of the past. Our current society is doing that right now.

We didn't do anything in particular, so in history books of schools we'll be those parts where teachers say "let's skip it, nothing useful here"

SW-User
@Nanori … all of that involves people: most of them dying and nothing being done about it. Is that not appalling?

Probably the food poisoning we were allowed to be subjected to by our own Government.
4meAndyou · F
Perhaps, just perhaps, they will be shocked by our open borders, and the fact that our governments have sold us out to drug cartels so that they can feed off of us.

The realisation that it didn't matter who you voted for. Their economic/healthcare/environmental policies ensured nobody would trust government again
Nimbus · M
@Picklebobble2 You have a point.
The end result can be much the same.

Charging extra for Black Pudding in ‘Spoons.
They really shouldn’t…

TheSirfurryanimalWales · 61-69, M
@Nimbus yeah,well, I still get it and just returned home to a letter telling me I’ve got a £150 warm home discount to be applied to my fuel bill.
So I’m happy 😀
But who has pickled onions with fish and chips?
But Black pudding shouldn’t be extra…and it’s 75 pence a slice!
Wetherspoons take note..😀

@TheSirfurryanimalWales Congrats, you've done well! :)
I'm guessing a pickled onion with fish & chips is a regional thing.
I think most of England used to offer it but the popularity has been declining for decades to be replaced by curry sauce.
Some shops used to offer pickled eggs too :)
As for BP I have never seen it offered in any fish &chip shop in all of the UK! ;)

Atlotto · M

That the USA still burnt coal in 2024 as a source of heat.
swirlie · 31-35
@Nimbus
Almost the entire male population of Pennsylvania are employed in coal mines, though most of them have no more than a grade 3 education either. The reason that region in the USA still uses coal is because there are huge stretches of the USA which are not served by Natural Gas and therefore only have propane and furnace oil as heating alternatives.
The coal in question is not used in homes like it still is used in parts of Scotland UK, but is instead used to heat factories or to provide a source of heating energy to produce steam that is used in factories.
