I think I overthink thinking about thinking too much 🤷♂️
LilPrincess · 41-45, F
Nimbus · M
@LilPrincess I know the feeling ;)
TheFragile · 46-50, M
Yes, nonstop. I don't know how to stop, and it's a serious problem for me. I can't relax, or turn off my brain if you will.
Nimbus · M
@TheFragile Could it be anxiety?
Often the root of many an ill.

TheFragile · 46-50, M
@Nimbus Oh yes, I know it's anxiety. I've had bad anxiety for over 20 years and have squashed it with medication. How ever that same medication is not working anymore. Hopefully my doctor can give me something that will.
Nimbus · M
@TheFragile I hope your Doc can help too.
Good luck 👍

Don't interrupt me, I'm thinking.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
I use to over analyse, but I’m happy to go with the flow and just deal with stuff and life as it happens now and not stress over it, which overthinking can bring on.
Nimbus · M
@Primnproper You have now gained wisdom :)
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Nimbus thank you oh wise one…😉
To quote Robbie Williams "I'm contemplating thinking about thinking, it's overrated so get another drink in."

@Mindfulness Awww, the great sage Robbie.

Hmmm let me think about it 🤔🧐
AbbeyRhode · F
I know I do. It's a hard habit to break.
Nimbus · M
@AbbeyRhode Tell me about it.
Do bears do this?
Nimbus · M
@OlderSometimesWiser Who would have thought bears would read the New York Post? 😯
@Nimbus I know, right? 😄

when you say "thinking" do you mean sorting through ones emotions, cconceptual
thinking creative thinking or analytic thinking ?
I feel from your picture you mean sorting through emotions. For me that answer is a no.
However it is odd (and I realize your posts are mostly tongue-and-cheek) at how diverse thinking can be in terms of the specifics but how generic we use the term in society without level-setting or qualifying what we mean by the term by expressing a context.

@Nimbus quora was an intellectuall paradise for a while. until about 2015 ish. it changed its model from a place for subject matter experts to share their knowledge to "I have an opinoin site"
However if you know have time and patience you can dig and still find SME's in various fields.
The more interesting thing relevant to this forum is they tried the anonymous posting for a while, I forget when and how long but it went really poorly for the site with a number of users dominating threads with deliberate false information and or trolling posts who were protected by their anonymous posts.
Because people don't come here for SME"s it may not have the same impact.

@robertsnj I used to check on Quora many years ago as it contained some interesting content.
A few hours ago I checked once more, what a difference!
The change is immense with a concentration on explicit images of fully naked people in various poses.
If I wanted pornography I'd rather go to Pornhub.com.

That was one of my ex-wife's problems (One of them that is).
I just make a plan and invoke it and adapt and roll with the flow and punches as the plan unfolds myself.

@WillaKissing Nice one, makes sense to do just that 👍

The only time I can't turn it off is when I am lying in bed trying to go to sleep. I am able to flip the switch whenever I am binge watching movies, or reading a great sci-fi/ fantasy novel, or when I am washing dishes or playing online games. Usually I can go into alpha wave brain patterns when I am engaged in any activity BUT lying in bed trying to go to sleep.
And of course, I am totally unable to relax when I am with my friend, Tom...but that's me responding to him, and not internal.

I over think everything. My mind goes nonstop. I really hate it
Nimbus · M
@Cigarguy101 Indeed it can lead one astray as there might be more important things to think about.
Anniedlr · 26-30, F
