Its happened to me recently. My brother texted me and asked if i remembered a guy who we grew up with. He said that he ran into him and he asked about me. I haven't seen him in 33 years. He said the guy told him that he always thought that he and i would end up together someday but i moved away at 18 and i never looked back. He told my brother to give me his number. I told him no thank you! Send him my regards.

@AngelUnforgiven That was cute though. When you guys was young he probably was afraid to talk to you

I have done that after a great deal of thought. It works well in that we live 100 miles apart, share a couple of interests, but only see each other a couple of times a year, which is sufficient to satisfy nostalgia and enjoy a day out without exhausting the conversation.

Yeah, I'd probably be suspicious. I hear stories like, oh I reached out and found my friend from highschool, I'm like thinking sooo you basically stalked them.
I'm past that part in my life and am very successful and proud of where I'm at. So I don't need to run into anyone from that time.

No I only had one friend in school and we're still very close today

I would probably be happy to hear from them unless they were bringing bad news about somebody dying.

It depends if I liked them or not

Old school reunions are toxic. Fat middle aged men bragging how successful they have been, with their Masonic handshakes.
