I was looking for a new user name because so many people were asking if I was really a doctor and calling me Ian. At one point, I made what was supposed to be a funny graphic — Dunning/Kruger for President 2020 — but no one seemed to get the joke. And I realized that was the perfect user name for me.

I like William Somerset Maugham. And I figured William was too common and no one would know how to pronounce Maugham lol

I changed it to pretzel to indicate I'm a little salty but harmless.

It’s a reference to one of my favorite books, Neuromancer.
