Do they? They might if they do not understand the subject.
Perhaps more accurately, many people say things like "humans and animals" as if we are not animals too, so don't think our own genus and species evolved.
The last major animal to do so, too, so far at least.

I think Orwell expressed it as the ability to hold two competing views at once and believe both are valid....

Everything is possible with relying on faith lol

Superiority complex doesn't need to make sense. To say they have evolved means at one point we were not superior and other life forms were never superior.
KamLee · 31-35
They want to feel special and superior.

@KamLee I mean, humans in general do, but I don't think that's the motivation behind denying human evolution in Christianity.

@KamLee I'll tell you why. Back when they wrote it, there was not all the knowledge we have at our disposal now. Humans had not researched their fellow animals in any meaningful way.

A fact according to how God created it.

@gregloa No-one is "scared" of anything - whether religious or not.
It's not very clear but what you are trying to say looks like insulting the intellect that believers would likely credit as God's gift to our species, and by implication the wish to understand God's works, the unknown men who wrote those ancient and undated, accounts of their beliefs and myths; and by extension, God Himself.
("Unknown". We have names, but that's all.)

Woof....
You got in real hot and real quick on religious dogma. That was an emotional tirade and i won't condemn you for it but i am going to hold you to it.
If you thought you had some relevant topics of debate there then please reiterate them more calmly and we can discuss them.
But the nonsense with the tired old saws about what atheists believe and why they believe it is beneath thoughtful discussion, Ima assume you had a drink or two and we can move on to more productive dicussion when you're sober.

Because if they do accept that, the rest of the narrative falls apart.

@Pikachu = Christianity is based on the belief in zombies, which might be the ultimate phase of evolution.
