Why is it that many Christians accept that evolution is a fact but deny that the Human animal has evolved as well?

I don't understand that compartmentalization

They want to feel special and superior.

@KamLee I'm usually not the guy who argues with folks on our side, but it's really not. The fact is, if Christians accepted that humans evolved, that would cause problems with the narrative that we were created separate from the animals. And that then calls into question the rest of the Bibble.
@KamLee @LordShadowfire

I think it's both.
People do seem to want to feel like we're special, more than just an animal. But also yeah, accepting human evolution complicates the theology

@LordShadowfire Humans want to think they are separate from animals because they want to feel special and superior though.

@KamLee I mean, humans in general do, but I don't think that's the motivation behind denying human evolution in Christianity.

@KamLee I'll tell you why. Back when they wrote it, there was not all the knowledge we have at our disposal now. Humans had not researched their fellow animals in any meaningful way.
