Not many. Most of the people I knew were in the neighborhood, and we grew up together. The rest were my older brother's friends. He is about one year older, and was popular and into sports. I am a nerdy loner. I had no friends and still do not.
In college I was more isolated and mostly studied, and only went to a few parties. I also had no friends, except my roommate for three years. We got a long well enough. I was best man at his wedding. Sadly, he cannot stand her now. We never really kept in touch after the wedding, though. We all lived far apart.
I have lived far apart from most people from my youth. I talk to coworkers, who have been around a while, and attend office parties. But I am not close to anybody.
I talk on the phone to my parents about twice a month. They live hundreds of miles away.
In my 20's I occasionally drank too much at parties. Later, I only drank occasionally at meals, or after softball games (I played for a while with people from my office).
I tried a cigarette once as a kid and hated it so never tried it again. I hate the smoke.
I have smelled weed but I do not think I ever got high from it. I also hate the smell of its smoke.
Now, my only social life is on here, in occasional chats with coworkers, and talking to my parents. My entertainment is YouTube on my regular TV (I rarely watch cable channels anymore), one video game that takes a while to play and I usually lose, so try again. And again, and again, until I win or cannot feel my legs anymore!
I like to drive aimlessly around the mountains or walk among flowers. But I lead a dull life.
