I think the vast majority have mundane explanations…plastic bags in the wind and geese in the night sky. Odd looking, and unexplainable by the observer, but not extraterrestrial. However, a small percentage may well have originated from outside our star system. Just remember, unidentified does not mean extraterrestrial, it just means from your vantage point you couldn’t identify it.

@BlueGreenGrey Indeed! Personally, I’d be ecstatic over the discovery of non terrestrial microbes! That at least would lend credence to the idea of otherworldly abiogenesis and perhaps even sentient life. But for now, the evidence is still lacking.

@Thevy29 Poor aliens!
Matt85 · 36-40, M
interdimensional for sure
froggtongue · M
Sometimes I believe in things like UPS and USPS. But then I reconsider if those would really be the will of the almighty Flying Spaghetti Monster (FSM).
smiler2012 · 56-60
@froggtongue 🤫why has the flying saucer pasta you house then
froggtongue · M
@smiler2012 🤔to get to the other sides? 🤷

What is an uap?
UFO is just an unidentified flying object. If it flies and you don't know what it is, it is an UFO.

@Zaphod42 By the sound of it that could even be a flashlight beam that you see in the sky. Except that that is easily identified.
Zaphod42 · 51-55, M
@Classified Not always. On occasion, with mild fog and an object like a plastic bag in the wind blowing through a searchlight beam, some pretty strange effects can be seen.

@Zaphod42 That sounds pretty fun to observe actually
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
By definition they're unknown, merely an admission of our inability to identify everything in existence.
CBarson · 51-55
They remain unidentified/anomalous
I have observed two such phenomena in my lifetime.
Neither resembled a "flying saucer"
I could not tell you what they were, other than they were very strange in appearance, unlike anything I had previously observed

oh yes, I believe 100%, in ALL 3 forms even! Have you seen a ufo or 2 before??
PhoenixPhail · M
Could be any and all. And with as diverse as this universe is, they could be anything.
Filipinalez · 18-21, F
Im of the opinion its mainly our government having new toys they dont want us knowing about. Ever notice how they always want to shut down a conversation about this?
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
If there are Aliens I'm sure they see the whole earth population like 'The Kardashians' and would rather watch this shit show from afar.
TVoyeur · 56-60, M
If it's just us, people of Earth, then it seems like an awful lot of waste of an unmeasurable amount of space 🤷🏻♂️
ArishMell · 70-79, M
Since "U" stands for "unidentified"....
Also the more fantastical your suggestion the less likely it is!

I believe in UFOs,

@BlueGreenGrey "Alien" is equally mundane - it just means from elsewhere, whether the origin is known or not. If I visit another country I am an "alien" there.
The conflation is just romanticism. Many people are not interested in fact if they can find or invent some exciting alternative notion, and the the dafter and less logical that notion, the more it attracts them.
