Was EP better than Similar World?

How many people came here after EP got shut down?
Peaches · F
I wouldn't say that. 😔 It was a different time then. So much has changed now days. In the beginning of EP it was a writers website. Few people even knew about it. I read some of the best stories ever. There was no way to comment back then, you just read peoples stories. When they opened it up to commenting and added more features the best writers started disappearing.
The website changed A LOT...and not for the better. It was huge though, I had some fun times back then. There were more people there than here. People have started to leave here for some reason. But it's what you make it. I have no idea how many came here when it shut down, but I'm sure it was many because there was no where else to go besides Face Book.

@akindheart I just googled it. Not something I want to stay steeped in. 😟 Had to stop reading after getting the gist. Imagine feeling so low as to asking someone to kill you. Too bad she felt that way. Either something happened to her or she was mentally ill, or maybe even some of both. No words for this really. I feel bad for them both but also for the families of both.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@SW-User yes indeed. think of those poor kids. both him and her had to be out of their minds to do that

Ep was lovely but everything eventually evolves into one thing or another 😊. @Peaches

EP was a cesspool of nuts. I had a circle of friends but i did get sucked into the drama. i was sad when it closed down but then my whole perspective of social media changed and it is not my focus anymore. i come on to answer friends
ShadowSister · 46-50, F
EP changed my life back in the day. I have never been able to connect with SW like I did back then. But this round I have been getting close.
AngelKrish · 26-30, M
@ShadowSister i am from ep ...and in our friendship you gonna get same feeling of EP🤗
ShadowSister · 46-50, F
@AngelKrish Your comment put a smile on my face. Thank you my friend.

SW was literally created after the shutdown of EP was announced

So that means that by definition everyone came here after EP

Most didn’t come here. Some did, but others came from other sites, or just stumbled upon SW. Most of my EP circle never came here. @Tracos
EP was different. It was created for a different reason and, like everything, changed from its original intent. SW was created for those of us from EP…and I appreciate that. Some of the things here are good and some are not so good. And it too has changed from the original. But it isn’t EP…that wasn’t its intention. It couldn’t be for the reasons EP had to close.

Bottom line? SW is what you make of it. Use the parts you like and leave the rest that you don’t.

EP is gone and won’t be back. We either use SW or leave and find something more to our liking.

not towards the end of EP, EP was going downhill before it actually died. It got infected with a thought-police robot known as EPAllie, terrible thing.

@MougyWolf
infected with a thought-police robot known as EPAllie
that name rings a bell. I was never on the site myself as a user, purely used to read stuff. Was she well known? What was her deal again? I can't quite remember. Did her demeanour change?
MoonlightLullaby · 41-45, F
@SW-User She was a moderator; electronic at that, I believe. She was always threatening us about subject matter and or censoring our writing. I wrote extremely naughty erotica there, so you can only imagine.😉

THANK GOD, I'm not that same girl anymore though.🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
MougyWolf · 36-40, M
@SW-User she was a censorship robot that flagged any post she deemed "unacceptable", the early beginnings of cancel culture, as it were
TexChik · F
It was busier, lots of things going on. It was ripe with catfish and pervs, but it was also outrageous and a little naughty.
aldnazmeister · 56-60, M
@TexChik I miss some of my friends from EP that didn't transition over to here. :(
TexChik · F
@aldnazmeister Most of mine did not, and those that did have left. I was sorry I did not make better preparations to stay in touch, but then again, they have made no effort to reach out to me 🤷‍♀️
aldnazmeister · 56-60, M
@TexChik true, preparations for the exit of EP would have been good, to be able to stay in touch if there were good connections.
Mine weren't quite like that, but I enjoyed our interaction that we had.
EP was bigger, had more people and more sections…. But, people here seem… nicer

Different vibe,it had more people, more real experience stories even a BLOG in spite of it being technologically more rudimentary
Peaches · F
@bookerdana I never cared about those. That's personal to me like a diary.😎📓
@Peaches Yes, that’s right. Confessions were private. Of course, people could still comment and you couldn’t reply without revealing yourself.
bookerdana · M
@Peaches It was a good place to organize stories and put things that defied characterization ..and I want one
Depends on what you are/were looking for. When I joined EP it was exactly what I needed. SW is fun but not as therapeutic as EP was for people dealing with personal issues.
ShadowSister · 46-50, F
@istillhaveanameitsrick I feel that too. What do you think made it different?
@ShadowSister Oddly I think it was a slightly older and more mature crowd on EP. I think SW is geared more towards younger (more profitable) people and people looking for sex chat.
ShadowSister · 46-50, F
@istillhaveanameitsrick I originally came to EP for the sex stuff. I wasn't prepared for the friends I would make or the ways that my experience there would profoundly affect me as a person.
Man idk that was like 40yrs ago
Magenta · F
More people, more diversity, quality writings, poems, stories.
I agree on this 👍🏽@Magenta
I’ve enjoyed EP more since I was really once a tired, overworked and a bit of a lonely person when I was using it. I thought it’s a site for people who are lost and i think it served it’s purpose for me. I was like a troll there but laughing with and at people there is the highlight of my day. I also try to help other people coping with their issues in life. That’s the main objective of that site imo. It’s very nice then.

Now, I don’t think I need a site like that anymore. SW for me is just trying to still connect with old EPers that I remember. I don’t “need” it as EP then. This is just when I have some time to mingle with the net people.

I like them both.
EP was different. Or maybe I was different then. My time at EP was a memorable and learning experience in many ways. I would always cherish the connections I had made there.
MoonlightLullaby · 41-45, F
EP was much better. I left around the time censorship was on the rise, and could clearly see the end was coming. I stayed away from social media at least 3 years or so, then woke up one morning and felt like I needed it back, but it wasn't there. I found this place and lurked for about 3 months; finding it boring af until I found my first crush(🤮), and this site has actually made me a happier and more compassionate over the years. I've grown here.🌷.. literally
EP was much better for me. Yes, I found SW after EP shut down.
Canuckle · 51-55, M
I was on EP, but just recently found SW. I haven’t found out if one can have their own page like on EP. This and there are way too many younger people on here. Lol. I guess I miss some of the older people that I met in 2013. Anyways all in all I am still entertained by the app.

@LittleBat i got best friends of my life from Ep 🤗 i don't met such friends in my real life😊
pdockal · 56-60, M
Does it matter ?

Nope. Same.

*Holds Hand Up*

I was on EP. Did I like it more than here? Hmmmm...I'd say yes, even though this comes from the woman who got a message from someone saying that I should have aborted my daughter with a wire coat hanger...

A lot better
sciguy18 · M
Don’t know how much better or worse EP was. Had some friends there who never made the transition to SW and who I miss. On the other hand, EP also had some nut jobs I don’t miss.
exexec · 61-69, C
I enjoyed EP more because I had good conversations with different people every day, which is more than I have on SW. On the flip side, I did have to avoid more catfish and total idiots.
Tres13 · 51-55, M
Carissimi · F
In my opinion, EP was unique and fantastic, in its heyday. It started to go down hill once they started changing things for the worst, but I loved it.
Domking · 61-69, M
Of course - EP was way better

Obviously I have migrated from EP
Quite a few others, but many others didn't.

I wouldn’t say it was better, especially not towards the end. It was very helpful to me and it was one of my first forays into social media. In the beginning it was also directed towards mature adults, which I appreciated. Then the kids kind of took it over. I like SW because it’s where most of my EP friends landed after it closed.

I came from EP. It’s done now so I don’t understand why people ask this question over and over. It’s time to move forward.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
I came over after it shut down. I am not sure if SW is better but EP is gone…so…
empanadas · 31-35, M
Ep was way better
