I'm not comfortable watching a sex scene on my own. It either feels super manufactured or too intimate for me to assume I should be a part of the viewing party. I would have sucked if I were a noblewoman at court in Tudor times during a bedding ceremony!

Oh, I don't know. Women tend to chose to use their wiles instead, and men have a hard time saying "no" to sesual activity in the end. I mean, they'd have to REALLY not be into it. That does certainly happen, though. To each their own. @bhatjc
I'm just glad I didn't ever join the game. The rules change, and nobody seems to truly win. I'd rather be in it for the right reasons. Even at 32. I'm happy to be where I'm at.

For me, my father would still see me as his little girl. I would still see him as my dad and my protector. So to watch a sexual scene with him is much more uncomfortable than watching one with my mother, with whom I share a more free relationship when it comes to sensitive matters. With my father, we can talk about such things, but it's always more serious. (In any case, I fast forward and pretend no important dialogue happened during sex scenes, with my parents or without. I'm a rebel that way.) I can talk to my mother about sex before even considering my father. He will always want to stand as my protector, including against men who would objectify me just as the films portray, no matter how old I am.
