Is this wrong of me?

In my experience I allow God to lead me in such matters. Feeling lead to give to others and actually leaving it in God's hands as to what the use the money for. I certainly don't mind helping the needy, but I can't help every one of them.

Not long ago I saw a young girl on the streets. She was walking towards me as I was pulling out of a gas station in my work truck. I swear this girl couldn't have been over 15 years old. Long red, matted hair. Wearing shorts and a tank top that were originally white but were more of a beige color now. Track marks all up her arms. My heart just broke for her. She asked me for money and I told her that I didn't have any money to give her, but I offered to buy her a meal. She decided. She didn't want food.

It's very easy to feel slighted not knowing if what you give goes to a real cause, or if it goes to drugs or a fancy car payment. I carry a bunch of gift cards in my glove box to hand out, if I'm in the situation.

I keep cash in my car for people. I don't really care if they're using or if they use it to get their next "fix." That bump might be life or death for them. Or it might be their rock bottom when they decide to get clean.

I think the gift of sharing shouldn’t stop due to the incorrect actions of others. I passed a girl on my way to work a while ago who asked for money so that she could get home, just money for the train fare. She did look like she was having a hard time, I suspected she may not be truthful but who am I to judge? The following week I was in the same area and she was there again asking the same question, money to get a train home. After asking she then recognised me from the previous week and then she quickly disappeared into the crowd.
We still need to give a helping hand, next time I’ll buy her the ticket.

I never give them cash. I’ll buy them lunch if they’re outside somewheres where I’m going in for lunch I’ll buy food but I won’t give cash.

Nowadays people use drugs and abuse other substances. I would rather ask them they need and go buy it with them than give them money.

I'm the exact opposite way a druggie needs that twenty way more than I do.

I try to help people that i see suffering. That includes weather they need a drink or their next hit . Ill never change.

Why do you try to figure out if they are using?

If they say they are hungry, give a sandwich; if thirsty, give a drink, etc.

Id rather buy them food but I guess I'd give them money too
