Is this wrong of me?

Proverbs 14:31
‘Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.’

So, I give cash to the poor when I can. But. I always try to figure out if they're using first. I kind of feel like it's wrong of me.

In my experience I allow God to lead me in such matters. Feeling lead to give to others and actually leaving it in God's hands as to what the use the money for. I certainly don't mind helping the needy, but I can't help every one of them.

Not long ago I saw a young girl on the streets. She was walking towards me as I was pulling out of a gas station in my work truck. I swear this girl couldn't have been over 15 years old. Long red, matted hair. Wearing shorts and a tank top that were originally white but were more of a beige color now. Track marks all up her arms. My heart just broke for her. She asked me for money and I told her that I didn't have any money to give her, but I offered to buy her a meal. She decided. She didn't want food.

@HappyCamper74 i’ve never known God to lead us can you explain that unless he’s talking to you one on one? I don’t understand that when religious people say that I don’t understand it.

@Funlov oh, wouldn't that be great if an actual audible voice from God spoke to me directly? Lol! As a believer and follower; it is more of a feeling or a prompting. As if the spirit of God, the Holy Spirit moves inside of you leading you to do or to say certain things. That's what I mean by that.

@HappyCamper74 should’ve said that because he came across as one more religious crockpot I’m Catholic but I don’t believe in everything in the Bible because you can’t live it. All you can do is live your life being a good person knowing right from wrong no Bible has anything to do with it called morals

@Funlov Just last week a lady told me that she heard God tell her not to go to her usual branch church but to the big service in town. She says she listened. When she got there she waited for direction and it came during alter call for church elders. The church elders were called to the front and God told her to go too. She said God told her to count the 6th person in line of the people kneeling at the front and it was a man. Then God told her to look at his shoes. What she saw broke her heart. A part of the man's shoe soles was gone and he had covered it with a cardboard box. She went home and told her husband everything and they agreed to buy the man new shoes. They bought him two. The man was so happy he cried. That's what being lead means. It's got nothing to do with religion but a personal relationship with Jesus and knowing his voice.

@HappyCamper74 nmh.

I always say that God answers prayers through people.

A spontaneous good deed for you can be a prayed for, blessing for another.

Plus, you never know what battles people are fighting.

It's not hard to be kind.

@Funlov Whenever I come across something from another religion that's to the core good, I can't help but accept it.

Does it have good words and teachings?Does it make me feel good? Can I learn from this?

God is God. Good is good.

I try not to judge where it comes from.

@Thandeka This is beautiful. Thankyou for buying him shoes.

@Eddiesolds Oh I wasn't the one that did the buying. It was a lady I know that shared the story with me that bought the shoes for this man 😀.
