Try magnesium, when you sweat you also loose a lot of minerals from your body. Magnesium is also good for cramps

cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Electrolytes may help if plain water doesn’t. It’s easy to sweat out minerals when you are in the heat a lot. Plain water doesn’t replace those minerals. And eating some watermelon with some salt on it might help you as well. I find that my sodium levels get too low when I am working out in the heat and have to take more of it.

Also take a shower to help you cool down quicker.

Being outside, sweating, and then drinking loads of water can actually put your electrolytes out of balance, which can result in a headache. It dilutes the sodium, etc, you have left in your body. Try drinking a gatorade or adding an electrolyte power to your water bottle. It might help.

@LadyBronte thank you, that sounds worth a shot!
LadyBronte · 56-60, F
@mangomonkey Good luck! Hope it helps.

@LadyBronte You’re being modest. That’s exactly what to do 😉

I'm on meds for headaches but the heat will definitely make my head pound. All I can do is go back inside & cool down.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Tumbleweed i strongly uggest you have a discussion with your physicians and pharmacist.
Tumbleweed · F
@samueltyler2 I'm due to go see my neurologist now
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Tumbleweed do not forget to discuss it!
Can't help you. I've not had a headache in decades (and for a good deal of that time I was hungover too many times).

I woke up with one today. I knocked back four extra strength Excedrin and came here to similar worlds. Feeling better now.
Try a cool bath/shower... as close to cold as you can bear it - also check out the symptoms for heatstroke, because it sounds like you might be getting a mild case of that if it's not dehydration.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
Could you have actually overdone it with too much water.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@mangomonkey if you really didn't go too far, your kidneys should be able to adjust.yiyr blood levels.
fun4us2b · M
@samueltyler2 This is true - too much water can cause a headache....even confusion...
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@fun4us2b we had a young man at army basic training that tried to pass his urine test/physical. He ended up having a seizure because of low serum sodium.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
any better?
Nevertooold · 56-60, M
put an ice pack on it.....
nedkelly · 61-69, M
Stay inside with the air conditioner on cool
RedBaron · M
Turn on the AC and stay indoors.
mangomonkey · 41-45, F
@RedBaron we don't have AC, not many places here do
RedBaron · M
@mangomonkey Why not?
Amylynne · 31-35, F
salt, you sweat it out, and drink a lot of water so you need minerals
