The pandemic

5 years on from lockdown and people seem to forget that Covid-19 has NOT gone away. Its still here and always will be , unless a vaccine is developed that totally eradicates it. In my line of work we are required to have a booster jab every year.

You have that right! And what do you do about the booster? And I don't believe for one minute it gets weaker every year. I told my sister and brother-in-law not to get that shot they wouldn't listen and now they've got major heart problems and my sister has very weird symptoms from it. She's not doing well at all. I just cringe when people think they're safe to get that shot or any of those. It's hard for me to even talk about. When my sisters neighbor went with her to get the shot, the next day her neighbor was dead!
You shouldn’t be required but you will be annually asked to have a booster if you work with vulnerable people or over a certain age. I’ve not heard anyone testing positive for Covid since last year. Over the last couple of years being self employed, a few have got covid but all were fine a few days later. I myself worked in care lockdown era, I caught covid once and had my first and second vaccine plus one booster. Now I have nothing, no booster, no flu jab and I have not even had a common cold for over a year.

I caught it so I feel I'm now immune, I'm now part of the herd who should be immune, I have a vaccine every year to be on the safe side.
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
@senghenydd COVID-19 doesn't work that way. You can get it multiple times.
senghenydd · M
@DunningKruger It should effect you less and less like most viruses that's the theory I hope I'm right.

It's about as scary as the common cold or the flu. I would have to quit my job if I were required to take jabs every year, as the Moderna vaccine affected my allergies extremely adversely.
Jonjdw · 51-55, M
I liked it. I don’t like doing things anyway. I still went to work the whole time. No vaccine for me. I probably had it but never when tested. But who knows.
Confined · 56-60, M
I would never get a booster. Pfizer wistlblowers said any one who took the covid vax would be dead in 5 years. Ive had sore joints, chest pains ever since. Im 3 years in, not sure i will make 2 more years. The vax was contaminated and should not have been given to any one.
Morvoren · F
@Confined I’ve had it. I’m still here.
SpudMuffin · 61-69, M
@Confined you're nearly 60, of course you have sore joints.

sorry, mate. Although, sorry to pry but what do you do for work ?
Pretzel · 70-79, M
Fortunately it has mutated into something not quite as toxic and not overburdening the healthcare system..

it was a scary thing wasn't it?
Pretzel · 70-79, M
@Alonenotlonely yeah it was definitely a calculated risk.
Alonenotlonely · 26-30
@Pretzel i dont think they had a choice but to roll it out. Imagine if we had to wait 2 years for clinical research
Pretzel · 70-79, M
@Alonenotlonely yeah, how many people died from it?
I took the shot and the boosters

I've stopped now and am just getting my regular flu shot

but if it mutates again into something nasty I'll be back in line for my shots.
Wizardry · 46-50, M
Get mine every six months for the vaccine and haven’t had COVID yet
dale74 · M
Then I would have already changed jobs and I got the Johnson & Johnson shop one time I've never had Covid

@Softandsweet2 If it is an effective vaccine those who get it don't have to worry about what others do. Sadly no vaccine can be shown to work as advertised and silly people rush out to inject themselves with some unknown substance. Funny thing is I don't know anyone who got vaxed that has not had some adverse reactions to it. 5 people I knew are dead from the vax. No one I know who had COVID died or had long term effects. Equally funny those who are sick most often from flu and colds are also COVID jabbed. I was talking to a fellow today who was jabbed and just spent 2 weeks in the hospital. He was jabbed. We shook hands the day he was coming down with it and I never got ill.

What line of work are you in? Since the boosters don't work and can cause harm I definitely wouldn't take them.
Alonenotlonely · 26-30
@Musicman hospitality

Exactly, too many people think it's a common cold and that the shot kills people or have chips in it.
Slicker24 · 26-30
Get out of here. Two doses of Nyquil and your bodies immune system takes over. You got to be a little bit tough.
Northwest · M
They will be reminded when they get infected.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
Given that vaxes don't work..... Why would anyone take one?
