I guess I've been a bad boy and had it coming to me, got Covid

Thought I ate some bad food at work when I started feeling hot all over, especially the chest and face. Started feeling light-headed and dizzy, nauseous, with general pain all over. Finished my shift and made it straight home just a couple of miles away ok. Then it gets worse. Woke up and read my temperature at 101.9°F and felt even hotter. Called in sick and was asked to complete a Covid test. Took the antigen rapid test and, oh well I guess it's my turn - tested positive for Covid. Twice. Advice is to isolate at home for a week.

Aside from running a temperature, there's this nagging cough with pounding headache, body chills, weakness and fatigue, sheets drenched with overnight sweats, and now sneezing, sniffling, red and itchy watery eyes. This version of Covid (B-A5 Omicron Subvariant?) is a milder form and very similar symptoms to the flu so I'm drinking lots of fluids, eating my veggies/fruits with a serving of protein when I can keep it down, not to mention a variety of meds. My dreams are bizarre and weird. Covid is no walk in the park, but at least I'm being a good boy now. Alright guys, I can hear the I-told-ya-so's coming, so let's have it.

@Thinkerbell That's only half my job - the other half is to get them very naughty😈

@PatKirby

Thank you for BC. 😃

How are you feeling?
PatKirby · M
@Thinkerbell

Much much better thanks. Only a minor cough remains, that's it. Taking the antigen rapid test again courtesy CVS over the weekend. Expecting to return to work Monday.

The rebranded flu..

What would have i told you so?🤔
PatKirby · M
@Virgo79
To wear a mask when walking down the production line at work, where no one is.

@PatKirby i only wore on where i needed to to get in, ive never had it yet that i know of.
Virus is small enough to go through one anyway.
hotmess · 31-35, F
Hopefully you have someone looking after you - especially at night. For some reason the symptoms tend to get worse at night? Take care
hotmess · 31-35, F
@PatKirby Oh gosh. I am sorry to hear that. You are not alone. I get depressed when I am rundown or sick too. I am a visiting nurse and it is very common amongst chronically ill patients. It's something that needs to be talked about more. Just you saying this could make a difference to another person feeling the same way. 🤗
PatKirby · M
@hotmess
As life goes by I noticed when I get sick I get sad and a bit whiny, but not depressed. Thought it was just me. Wonder if it's the drop in testosterone and proportion to estrogen balance. But yeah it's noticeable while ill as I get older.

@PatKirby Sorry for the late reply ... hope you are feeling better 🙂. You make a really good observation regarding hormone imbalance. You may way want to look up DHEA. You can purchase a cream (Amazon) and rub on your skin. I have started using it and my brain fog is clearing slowly. Hormone deficiency can cause a myriad of problems that are frightening - especially relating to your heart. Any who ... Just a friendly suggestion 💮
What were the other variants of covid you had earlier ?
And how is this different?
Are you feeling better now ?
PatKirby · M
@UnderstandMe
Good question. Did not have Covid before, did take the two vaccinations though. Temperature dropping to manageable, thx.
@PatKirby I hope you recover soon .I had in January this year and it was terrible.I had lost my sense of taste and smell as well but the good news was it lasted for only a week and thankfully by the end of the week I was okay .
Just take lots of fluids and steam regularly.
There's light at the end of the tunnel .🤗
PatKirby · M
@UnderstandMe
Yes, drinking lots of water and green tea. Will steam more as suggested. So kind.
Fluffybull · F
I don't know why anyone would say I told you so. Just about everyone has covid by now, especially the last variant. Hope you feel better soon. 👍
Monoclonal antibody treatment is your best bet should it get worse. But I do believe that this too shall pass. Rest up. See ya soon
PatKirby · M
@stratosranger

I was reading about that. Seeing some headway with all this rest and hydration, so not getting worse. Thanks.
Tres13 · 51-55, M
Similar conditions to when I’m down with the flu
Had mild symptoms with Omicron

Speedy recovery
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
Been feeling fatigued with weird dreams too. No other symptoms though. Except forgetfulness
Carissimi · F
Sorry you are ill. Hope you make a quick recovery. Just get rest and stay hydrated.
PatKirby · M
@Carissimi

Covid doesn't discriminate between bad and good. It only knows you were bound to get it.
Feel better soon. :)
