Covid is definitely bad and has the world down on its knees, but it is not as bad as the media has made it out to be. There is a lot of fear mongering.
There are a lot of deaths, yes. But when the flu as we knew as flu was first known, it had a lot of deaths until people developed immunity. Malaria kills in millions every year. And most people infected by Corona do recover.
Maybe the phrasing of 'just another flu' is triggering but I'd rather not be in fear of it being something overly dangerous.

Not necessarily. I think it’s overplayed but I don’t go without a mask. I don’t know where are all these people that don’t where masks at. I don’t see anyone going with out a mask, at least not for long. @Nomoretomorrow

Yes I believe how people would question it. We hear stories about hospitals listing people as covid deaths when their tests all came back negative for covid. Hospitals are fraudulently listing their deaths for covid relief money. Its hard to believe when people are lying about it. Seeing is believing though.

I have covid and Ive work when Ive been sicker. I also know a lady who has been out of work with it for several weeks. Shes home from the hospital but is still on oxygen. That just goes to show everyone is experiencing it differently.

same as global warming like ooh no we were completely wrong, its not getting hotter what were the negative things we did to counter it? plant trees and take more energy from suns and such! and wind!

I do think that it has variations and doctors also think that the masks might be keeping the degree of exposure to the virus smaller for some. The exposure may be relative to the degree of the symptoms. Think of how when you drink one glass of alcohol and compare it to when you drink six glasses of alcohol. Inhalation, contrary to what some believe, matters.

A more severe flu, worse than the swine flu (H1N1) a few years ago. If you take everyone who died of COVID19 in USA divide by the total number of positive cases you get a 1.5% death rate. For seasonal flu, it is rarely over 1% 2017-18 was 0.1%. The 1918 flu had a 2.5% death rate.

The problem is that for a large part of some communities it is less than flu. They don't believe it is that catastrophic if 1 out of 10 people has it bad and the rest are either asymptomatic or have cold-like symptoms for 4-5 days at most. 😑 Then they spread it to those who might end up in ICU.
