@GlitterEater It was the name of a fruit first. The color was just called reddish yellow until the fruit was introduced

Khaki is a color that comes from the British occupation of India. The issued uniform was too hot to wear in India so the Brits began wearing a lighter cotton uniform and colored it to blend in with the dirt. It was called Khaki. When I was in the Canadian Armed Forces I had two work uniforms. Blue and Khaki. Khaki was summer dress while the blue was winter dress.
