The US needs immigrants because the birth rate is 1.66, well below the 2.01 needed to replace the population.
A younger tax base is needed to support an older population. Birthright citizenship has been a wonderful economic engine for the US.

I heard on a radio interview that researchers are looking into using AI to take care of our aging population. I don't really know if seniors are going to be okay being cared for by a technology they have no experience with.
Truth is we have more people growing older and fewer people buying homes they could stay in with family.
