slow joe should go on trial too for impersonating a person with a brain
SevIsPamprinYouAlways · 56-60, F
@beaglehunter ROTFLMFAO!

“Slow Joe”
Meanwhile, Velveeta Voldemort has been spewing the sort of word salad associated with dementia for ages:

And speaking of “impersonating someone with a brain” here’s what Trump’s “best people” have said about him, on record:

Once again:

beaglehunter · 70-79, M
@SevIsPamprinYouAlways i am n ot a republican i am an independant was a democrat and voted republican in the last election after voteing for obuma in his first try. he in my mind was dumber than a tree so i voted against him in his second election and in my mind slow joe is doing bummas third term
And when is YOUR trial, @beaglehunter for the crime of (your words) "impersonating a person with a brain"??

Richard65 · M
"I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters, OK?"

What would be the point of televising the trial when Trump's cult has fallen so far down the rabbit hole that they're incapable of judging reality?
@JSul3 Trump finished the evolution.................so far. (It may get worse) Now the "Evangelicals Right" which was always the core of the family values party..... is nothing more than a political wing of the GOP...and screw God and religion. Now they embrace "I grab them by the pussy" and smile. Bible waving for photo ops is "real religion". The goal for them is now........GIVE US JUDGES so we can force OUR agenda on everyone else.

The idea of "conservative" damned sure don't apply to conservative spending anymore. Trump added $7 trillion to the debt in just 4 years. Back in the Reagan/Bush Sr. years they doubled the debt in just 8 years. Jr. doubled it again....but by inventing "deferred spending"-------a term he made up....all he spent on his wars was NOT added to his legcacy. Deferred meant to wait until 1 minute after midnight on the day Obama took office and count as it as spending on Obama terms in office. (Look that up....absolute truth)

The "law and order" party is now let the man who attacked our government off.....the law don't apply to him. Other than identifying with the color Red as a party color.................nothing remains of what used to be the Republican Party.....except those that are in their 70's and older now who think when they vote "R" today they are still voting for the ideas and values and standards of the GOP that they remember from back in the 1960's and 1970's.

@anythingoes477 And seem to be supporting Putin and his invasion of Ukraine. Sick!

@Richard65 well for the memes of course.

@carpediem SURE!

@JSul3 years? They just took control less than a year ago. You don’t pay attention do you? Don’t answer that. I already know the answer.

Trump’s trial should be televised
BY ALAN DERSHOWITZ, OPINION CONTRIBUTOR 06/14/23 08:00 AM ET

"The American public has the right to view legal proceedings regarding former President Donald Trump, including pretrial, trial and post-trial courtroom appearances. At the moment, federal trials are not televised, although many state trials are. The two impeachment trials of President Trump were televised. Transparency and accountability require that both of the Trump trials now pending — the one in Manhattan and the one in Miami — should be televised. Both sides should agree and should petition the judge. If the judge refuses, Congress should enact immediate legislation opening this federal trial to television cameras.

I don’t know whether either side favors or opposes televising the trial, but I am certain the public supports maximum transparency."
@JSul3 Agreed. Maximum transparency.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@JSul3 they cannot do a fair trial. The libs would lose.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
Justice Roberts has no intention in getting involved no matter what. Most especially since this is "public" pressure on the supreme court.

That is contraire to his own publicly known beliefs. He is for states rights, not individual rights. He considers this country a "republic" just as the constitution says, barring specific amendments.

He did not rule in favor of any of Trump's attempts because that is public pressure on the supreme court.

I don't like Robert's much at all. Yet he is true to form. Public opinion has no place on constitutional matters by him. And this is not a constitutional issue. They have simply ignored any such pressure before and will do so again.

Since this is a "republic"an supreme court. They simply will stay out of it. If it's not in the constitution they don't have to rule either way. Just ignore it.

This is the difference between the "letter of the law" and the "spirit of the law".

As to Congress. What a laugh. They can't agree to anything. And by the time they would, it would be all over.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@JSul3 so do I! Yet there is still only a 45% voting turnout! And that's one of the best in decades.
JSul3 · 70-79
@DeWayfarer Sad....am in Texas which leads the nation in voter apathy.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@JSul3 I know Texas. Lived in San Antonio for almost six years.
Will it still be fair? Hardly. People lie and witnesses lie. There's nothing fair about it. I have seen corrupt judges before.
The whole point is to only show they public what they want.. a free n fair trail in DC. Never gunna happen.
They convict no matter what. Throw him in the clink. He’s lawyers will get a SCOTUS ruling within a week. Over turning it all. As per usual with Jack smith cases…

And he will still win in 24
Zeusdelight · 61-69, M
This case involves US security questions and the espionage act. Transparency is one thing, not revealing security information is perhaps more important.

Televising it would mean editing anything that involves security. That would create a bigger storm than not televising it at all.
KunsanVeteran · 61-69, M
@Zeusdelight Agreed! Quad Indicted has already placed our national security at grave risk by mishandling and very likely disseminating information related to our nuclear program, means/methods/sources and those of our allies.

The classified documents trial SHOULD NOT be televised.

The insurrection trial most definitely should be televised.
JSul3 · 70-79
@KunsanVeteran Agree. The FL trial should not....Judge Carroll will likely allow a delay until eternity.

The DC and GA trials should be. GA state trial can be easily.
KunsanVeteran · 61-69, M
@JSul3 I absolutely agree. And anyone who actually plans to vote for him or is thinking that they might really owes it to themself to watch those trials if possible.

@SW-User Yup, might as well do our best and enjoy what we can
SW-User
@fun4us2b Yes that makes sense
JSul3 · 70-79
@fun4us2b The late John Lewis once said: "Never give up! Never give in!"
Words spoken by a man who was almost beaten to death by state police, as he and others marched peacefully across the Edmund Pettis Bridge, demanding voting rights.
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
My opinion, I really don’t care that the trial be televised. Reasons: I fully trust the prosecutors to do what’s right here, this is why I voted with the majority to put Biden in office to establish an administration made up of competent employees to do what needs to be done.
KunsanVeteran · 61-69, M
@BackyardShaman And he’s doing that and doing it very well. It’s sad that the Republicans can’t help out by supporting the many badly needed bills and vote according to the needs of their constituents. But they’re too busy trying to score brownie points with Quad Indicted.
Confined · 56-60, M
I doubt there will ever be a trial. This is all smoke and mirrors.
If they do put Trump on trial, he can say anything he wants in his defence. (He can do an Oliver North) He can drop a bombshell that would put the country in an uproar. No network under any circumstances would show it. They have a narrative they want to keep.
KunsanVeteran · 61-69, M
@JSul3 The prosecution would love to have him on the stand and just let him talk. Giuliani, too.

The defense counsel would cringe…
JSul3 · 70-79
@KunsanVeteran They can use the Jeff Sessions defense: "I do not remember. I do not recall."
KunsanVeteran · 61-69, M
@JSul3 Quad Indicted won’t. He’ll just make something up. And whatever he spews out will get him in more trouble.

Giuliani does use the “I don’t recall” and when he does you know he’s lying—because it’s something very incriminating that certainly would get him in more trouble. Gym Jordan does this, too. Many crooked lawyers do—and coach their clients to do so.
Viper · M
There is zero percent chance that will remove the media from play, that will just double up the media.

Also, what channel are you shows it? That's media involvement right there.

Also, probably less than 10% (maybe less than 3%) of Americans will watch the entire thing, they'll mostly just be getting the highlights from their biased news of choice. As most of us have jobs and lives and can't stop and watch even a tenth of that.
Viper · M
@SandWitch Once again, your just attempting to insult like a child, without making a valid point of your own.
KunsanVeteran · 61-69, M
@Viper Granted. And that’s fine. But the raw footage needs to be in the public domain so everyone can see that Quad Indicted got a fair trial, put forth no credible legal defense, and is unfit to hold elected office.

If I’m wrong, then let Quad Indicted’s legal team prove me wrong on television.

By the way, are you old enough to remember Watergate? The January 6th trial would draw huge crowds.
Viper · M
@KunsanVeteran Yes publicly records need to be kept of all trails. And I'm sure they'll document this one as much as allowed.
fun4us2b · M
Oh for goodness sakes this has to stop - - we can't find people to work in factories or properly govern....grow the hell up everyone.
beaglehunter · 70-79, M
yes i think the American people should see it because we are the people that elect not the judges or the lawers.WE THE PEOPLE
Jimmy2016 · 61-69, M
🤔...............What trial are you referring too?...........All Politicians are criminals on both parties............
JSul3 · 70-79
@Jimmy2016 I you read my OP, I refer to the trial that should follow in DC after Trump's indictment on Thursday. Perhaps you saw it on the news.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
Happy to oblige when biden is brought to justice
JSul3 · 70-79
@MasterLee If Biden were charged and indicted, I would want to see the trail as well.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@JSul3 great
It's an excellent idea but MAGA's collective minds are made up. Everyone involved, hundreds if not thousands of people have been corrupted by "Biden's" Justice Dept. The verdict in any or all of these cases won't mean anything unless Dotard is found innocent. That is the only way the verdict can be trusted.
JSul3 · 70-79
@Pitchblue So you have already made your mind up as well?
@JSul3 Trump will definitely have over 100 felony charges by the end of the summer. These charges were not levied against him because of a vendetta like he would like the public to believe. These charges were all vetted by Judges, Grand Juries, etc. Hundreds of people have determined these are charges brought against Trump according to the US Justice System. When McConnell voted against impeaching Trump for inciting Jan 6th the reason he gave was that Trump would get his day in court. That time has come.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
And if such coverage were offered, how many Americans do you think would have the time or patience to watch the entire proceedings and then form a reasoned and objective view of their own? 🤨 The media exists for a reason and ethical journalists are not in the pockets of special interests.
JSul3 · 70-79
@SunshineGirl Thousands watched the OJ trial. IMO, the trial of a former president is vastly more important and significant.
Ducky · 31-35, F
I actually do agree with that. I appreciate your neutral and logical delivery. Those who are for one side or the other will automatically assume you’re with or against them, but the language you used was strictly unbiased and only pleading for something completely within reason. Respect.
JSul3 · 70-79
@Ducky Let Justice Roberts hear your voice.

@jshm2 Do you want to see it?

I certainly believe in the Rule of Law, but I also believe in the American people's right to know.
RedBaron · M
No matter what is demanded or done, 1. every American won’t care or be able to watch anyway, and 2. it won’t affect the outcome.

I might watch some of it and I trust the legal process to produce the correct outcome based on the facts and evidence, but I opt out of any handwringing, thanks.
originnone · 61-69, M
NO....Then I won't be able to watch cartoons!
JSul3 · 70-79
@originnone I was alive back then too.
It was important.
originnone · 61-69, M
@JSul3 They could have rotated between networks. We didn't need it on all three when you could only watch one anyway.
JSul3 · 70-79
@originnone Suggest you make your voice heard. C SPAN would be the logical choice.
eli1601 · 70-79, M
Which trial?
eli1601 · 70-79, M
@JSul3 I know it won't be moved. Jack knows even a case as weak as this could still get a conviction in DC
SevIsPamprinYouAlways · 56-60, F
@eli1601

Yes, Eli. Almost certainly the testimony and the 2,319 texts messages of noted liberal Mark Meadows, (who served as Trump’s Chief of Staff on the day of the insurrection) played a significant part in an impartial grand jury bringing this forward to an indictment. Not to mention other people in MAGA orbit who’ve most probably flipped:

SevIsPamprinYouAlways · 56-60, F
tindrummer · M
don't think Roberts has anything to do with whether the trial is broadcast - live or any other way
JSul3 · 70-79
@tindrummer He actually does. That is why cameras are not allowed in federal court proceedings.
rfatoday · 61-69, M
Very good point. I agree 100%.
[quote] Demand that when the day comes and this DC trial begins, it must be televised live from start to finish.
